Based on the tory destruction of society you arnt missing much.

For their argument was to own property was to become part of the community and to gain pride in your endeavours.

Well the increasing % of the population have now been forced out of that opportunity, and so rightfully could argue they arn't part of society now.

I think the last 2 posts are off track from what the OP was talking about. Something not involving economics/politics
By:

Why?
society doesnt exist, I think thats very relevant.

The mantra that got us here where collections of people are divided came about because of politics that told all to go out and tend your own desires and not give a damn of the impact on others.

that is certainly true of three distinct groups I can think of immediately

Grin^^^

You could get another chance of fitting in by purchasing a Thai bride or the like as plenty do and enjoy the obvious what goes along with it instead of pretending to enjoy ploughing a middle aged woman or continued hand shandies Wink

Whenever I see a man with a woman who I think maybe is a thai bride they never seem happy, even if they have children with them.  I would go so far as to say that they seem unhappy.

I couldn't agree more annie I was in Morrisons last week and saw a bloke that had to be 70 limping along with a walking stick and the young Thai girl he was with was just trundling along looking at her phone miserable as sin.
The lad that lives down the street from me is mid-late 40's and what most would consider 'normal',job, car, house etc and they live as a family older man-younger woman though you rarely see them but he's always out walking the dog.

When you think about it the girl with the old bloke would just be his carer tbh.

You would be in the washed-up 50+ woman market who's bored and kid/s have grown up....so yes but you need to know your market. Unlikely to find someone around your age without kids/partner.

My uncle was your age when he met his 50+ partner she doesn't look that old and they don't look an odd couple...they go on holidays , out every weekend etc.

No kids, no partner and not bored - but I am still a washed-up 50+ woman

When you're on your own you want a partner, when you've got a partner you want to be on your own.

Been on my own since 1999; not gay and I do get my fair share of interest but run a mile when it starts to get serious. Too much water under the bridge me thinks.

You can be Bob Ferris or you can be Terry Collier. What you must never be is Bob Ferris trapped in a Terry Collier lifestyle (or vice versa), which is what seems to have happened to Mr Poker here.

He's presumably hating himself as he watches his life dissipate in a steady 9 to 5 job, while at the same time his colleagues exclude him from the badminton club owing to the lack of necessary social credentials (i.e. marriage to a librarian and plans for a family).

If you're convinced you're not going to be a catch for any Thelmas out there, then best ditch the Bob Ferris job and embrace your inner Terry Collier. Maybe go racing during the week, take the punting seriously, or just relax by the river with a fishing rod. If it's just a general loneliness, then go down the dog's home and walk a few mutts and adopt one. Whatever it takes, just stop wanting to be Bob Ferris.

Of course, why didn't I think of it - I have been trapped in a female body whilst my inner terry collier has been trying to get out Happy

Surprised at you annie Sad Bit of a Ray cist statement ! It dosen't matter what country the bride comes from, the unhappiness just comes from being married and having kids SadSadLaughLaughLaughWink
