Seem to be reduced in every shop I go in.  Masses of them in Tesco - got their own section!

Looks like the industry  overstocked.

Picked up a couple in Thorntons for a pound.

They are very poor quality chocolate, made in such vast bulk that they build the after Easter prices in to their forecasts.
Also the weight of chocolate is low, very thin. Like all cheap chocolate they weigh much less than they used to.

I can think back to when they were completely hand made, and the chocolate varied in thickness between acceptable, and very thick.
Also they had hand done icing designs, which was a great taste with the chocolate....

Certainly agree about the quality.

I usually got 2 each year, but they were special and delicious.

My grandkids get over a dozen and they mean nothing to them.

I remember one year I had some Lindt bunnies from my gran.  That was when Lindt chocolate was really special.

I got 153g for £1 btw.

Easter Eggs are a strange one ,chocolate ones bizarre imo ,Easter Bunnies strange as well .Of course the Hare was the creature of myth going back thousands of years and the Hare has become a Rabbit in modern times .Easter Sunday  is after or on the first full moon after the vernal equinox .Full Moons and Hares are steeped in mythology ,in fact the Hare has global acclaim in mythology going back to the 6th century and beyond in the U.K. and appears to represent something in many ancient cultures and religions .It also represents something slightly dark with its connection to witches and shape shifting due to the creatures fleet of foot and also because it's such a secretive animal which for a long time many knew little of its life and perhaps at one time they believed it laid eggs ? They thought it did not breed in the normal way because they never found any young and it was often connected with dark mythology ,prob due to its nocturnal life .March is Hare breeding time and Easter eggs represent fertility and offspring ,perhaps this is why the Rabbits superseded the Hare ,maybe through ignorance or maybe it was Christianity replacing the old pagan Hare .The egg rolling was in many parts a very big thing and decorating eggs is another strange phenomenon imo . Reckon the vernal equinox prob had significant festivals before Christianity and springtime in general is a time of reproduction especially for birds and think this is where the egg thing comes from ,Eggs ,Hares (rabbits ) ,many old myths ,Christianity and the Reserection is easy to understand but absolutely no eye deer where the chocolate came from . All in all quite a puzzle to unravel .
