Why shoot a dead man?
I saw a programme the other day about the Pacific War against Japan and a (retired) US soldier said they'd shoot dead Japanese in the back of the head. This would open up the mouth, which would have been locked shut due to rigor mortis. With the mouth open, they could access any gold teeth. He said he carried 2 bottles with him. One contained water; the other he filled up with gold teeth. He said many soldiers collected several pounds of gold.
