How do you get close enough to a man with a gun to use a taser?

Pretend to be bringing him a pizza and then flip open the lid and Taser him.

Collier Row us a fair way from most of east London and would be regarded as Essex by many.
It certainly isn't an area of racial tension and gang culture.
This sort of thing happens all the time, unfortunately.

If he's armed and you aim to wing him or bring him down with a limb shot, you could miss or still not prevent him from shooting back.

If a armed policeman enters a building to arrest someone who has a gun, then unless they've got their hands in the air they're in mortal danger.

I saw a programme the other day about the Pacific War against Japan and a (retired) US soldier said they'd shoot dead Japanese in the back of the head.  This would open up the mouth, which would have been locked shut due to rigor mortis.  With the mouth open, they could access any gold teeth.  He said he carried 2 bottles with him.  One contained water; the other he filled up with gold teeth.  He said many soldiers collected several pounds of gold.

A man who was shot by police while carrying a table leg which was mistaken for a gun, was unlawfully killed, an inquest jury ruled today.

Harry Stanley, 46, a painter and decorator of Hackney, east London, was shot in the head and hand by police marksmen on September 22 1999. Two Metropolitan police officers fired the shots after mistakenly being informed that Mr Stanley had a sawn-off shotgun.

The father-of-three, who was originally from Lanarkshire, Scotland, was carrying a blue plastic bag with a coffee table leg inside, which had just been repaired by his brother Peter. He was shot as he walked home from the Alexandra Pub in Hackney.

Given that Cressida Dick personally oversaw an incident in which a Brazilian was mistaken for an Arab and shot several times from point blank range, it wouldn't be that surprising if incidents like these became more common now she is in charge of the entire Met.

I don't envy the Police trying to defend us against insurgents.

I can well understand the police backing off unless society is fully behind them instead of hovering ready to condemn or prosecute for any misdemeanour under severe pressure. When I look at our media, judiciary and lawyers I would be loathe to intervene nowadays.

Why would society be fully behind the Police? They are clearly the enemy of the People, not its servants. Very soon, the contract between Police and public will break down, in fact there are several parts of the country where this has already happened.

Successive governments, who ruined this land by flooding it with wrong uns, are the enemy of the people. The Police are caught in the middle trying to clear up the damage.

In your opinion. My guess is that you are in a minority on this matter.

Your first sentence is quite valid saddo, but your point that the police are in any way keen to clear up the damage is risible.
