Called for by Andy Burnhams mainly because many of the rank and file complained that they were held back for two hours and six minutes by their management. I for one would like to say that those who serve in the fire brigade courage will never be doubted. As for the fxxking media, absolutely horrendous, pretending to be bereavement nurses. Sticking their feet in people doors etc etc pure scum
Fire Service , stationed a mile away, called within 2 minutes of the bomb. Refuse to go to the Arena and drive 3 miles in the other direction to a 'rendezvous point' and wait there for 2 hours.

I know it's said jest leaves or at least I hope it it is ! As I said creating this topic it was whistle blowers from the rank and file that the inquest came about. I don't think anyone could question the courage of our fire fighters. The saddest thing is many of them have advanced first aid skills and maybe had they been able to get to the scene maybe a few more lives could of been saved.

It isn't the Firefighters fault they were held back. Common sense to keep them away until the danger from a gunman and/or other bombs is determined. 2 hours does seem exceptional if that's the case. Hardly pansies Steve.

As said above, the men wanted to do their job. However, due to ever increasing health and safety regs and our ever increasing PC society I'm guessing commanders have to put the safety of their crew before that of the public.

A bomb going off has everything to do with firefighters.

Fire Chiefs are under immense pressure in circumstances like this. Send them in immediately without thought and another bomb goes off could see them face manslaughter charges.
