But the french cop who volunteered and put himself forward, put his gun down, then went unarmed to replace a female hostage held by a religious nutter (who had just tried to kill policemen jogging) - and is now dead at the hands of this vermin - that takes huge bollocks. That's not even a normal hostage situation, he surely knew these guys are happy to kill and be killed SadSad?

a very brave man, doing his bit for society

saved a life, but sadly gave his own.

Wasn't the story a couple weeks ago that the armed school cop in the US didn't enter the building when the guy was shooting, even though he WAS armed? I think I would go in, I'd have a fighting chance, it's my duty, and I have a good degree of control over how it would play out. Even if you just distract and pin him in an area until help comes you've done a great job, you don't need to be rambo. But this French guy, that's miles above the call of duty, it's giving up all control of the situation, I think most of us wouldn't.

trump said he would go back n with no gun
Report Just Checking March 24, 2018 12:42 PM GMT
Well he is according to his detractors brainless and likes to brashly act before engaging brain, maybe he would? Not saying he wouldn't be instantly shot in a possibly comedic manner, but maybe he would :)
Report donny osmond March 24, 2018 12:49 PM GMT
there is footage of trump at his rallies when shots are fired

pretty clear what he did

the french bloke did not flinch, he exceeded his duty, not many would do that

trump ducked Whoops

Ducking if you hear shots fired isn't cowardice, there is nothing brave about standing imobile and being shot at when you can take cover, that's stupidity!
Report donny osmond March 24, 2018 1:08 PM GMT
nor is it running to confront a gun man

the french guy had no regard to his own safety, thinking only of others safety
Report stickyvicky March 24, 2018 1:08 PM GMT
Leftie logic,
Not horrified that a US presidential candidate was moments from a modern day assassination but more concerned that the target ducked when shot at.Crazy

He also phoned through to his colleagues, put the phone down somewhere, so they could get an idea of what was happening.

I fear he may have been victim of friendly fire when they stormed in?

Stand at ease. I'm Sergeant Checking, instructor for this part of your training.
Today we will cover "coming under fire". When under fire, you must all do the following.
1. Bunch together, under no account spread out. Make a single area for them to concentrate fire on.
2. Stand tall! Make no attempt to put any available objects or terrain between you and incoming fire!
You are not cowards!
By showing such bravery, the enemy will be morally shaken, flee the battlefield, and the reputation of the regiment shall be honoured!

Remember the motto of the The Kings Own 6 Foot Unders.
"First in, First out in boxes, ALWAYS top of the casualty lists"

Hardly fair, Trump has plenty of practice ducking. Ducked the draft five times Laugh wasn't going in even though they would have given him a gun.

As for Arnaud Beltrame, Donny can only dream of having the cahones he had.

A very brave man who's courage will hopefully give his family some solace. RIP Sad On the subject of the brave President Laugh spare a thought for the secret service guys who's job it is to place themselves in between the gunman and the President Shocked its a big ask to sacrifice your life for someone else !

If it occurs here send in one of the mps who love the religion of peace, they will probably be queuing round the building to volunteer.
