....how long, typically, do you think it takes for you?

For me, I think, not usually much less than half an hour, and many changes of position.

Went on company business to Barcelona, and stayed over at a hotel with one of the guys, the night before the flight.

Getting ready for bed and he tells me that he snores!

Good job we had a big room, with king size beds, but the thing is he was virtually instantly (not more than 90 secs) asleep and snoring for England!

Is that normal?

Half a bottle of Southern Comfort then I'm out like a light but tend to wake every 90 minutes or so. No drink then it could take up to an hour or two but once out it is 7/8 hours solid for me.

Takes me approx 10 minutes but then i'm wide awake normally 5 hours after going to bed.I now longer go on golf trips with my mates because of this snoring problem. If i'm rooming with a snorer i'm in a state of permanent anxiety in case they go to kip before i do and of course they invariably doCry.I have even been known to sleep in the hotel bath or corridor just to get away from guttural features.

I, of course, NEVER snoreWink

3 of us are going on a fishing trip to Devon later this year. It's a log cabin right beside a lake with 3 bedrooms to ensure I don't sleep with a snorer. It's worth the extra dollar imo

When I have to get to sleep as I have to be up for a certain time I always end up wondering "How will I know when I'm asleep?"  Then I get befuddled by how instantaneously the night seems to go, being awake and then what seems like a few moments later, being awake again but several hours in the future, i.e. the morning.  All this ensures I can't get to sleep.  On normal nights I'm ok, perhaps a few minutes after everything is switched off, but I'd struggle before 2am.

Read a biography of a famous footballer: Beckham, Roonay, Gerrard.

I can usually fall asleep straight away, much to my wife's annoyance, it's when I get up in the night for a pee, then try to get back to sleep, is when I have a problem Sad
