woundedknee,
Do you seriously say Bermonmdsey is more dangerous these days than in the 70's? Are you likely to bump into someone who says " I don't like your face "? Ashley to be fair most of the tough guys kept it to themselves. I'd suggest the most danger anyone would face in Bermondsey these days is being in a boozer and meeting a crowd of Woundedknee and his old mates on the lash reliving old glories...and you know what I'm talking about don't you wounded knee ![]() I think you are right though. In any city center type situation the biggest problem is gangs of kids roaming around with nothing to do. They are not usually in high street or pub situations. The pubs and high streets are generally safe but around their own patch they can be ferral, carry knives and live in a state of mind alien to most of us old codgers. I feel sorry for them because when we were 14 years old going to the pub and finding out how far to push before someone gave you a slap they are usually in their herd and protected. The fear of leaving the herd manifests in carrying knives, which, generally we did not do. In fact there were strong feelings against those carrying knives. The other big kickers after not drinking is imho taking drugs because they can't afford alcohol and their music is sheite! That is why many of them listen to our music and we still listen to our music. Going to pubs was a great way to learn to interact with society. That is why again imho we have so many problems with Musso's and not Sikh's! |

That made me laugh! and who is to say you are wrong! I despair of young people at times. Self absorbed uninteresting, unopinionated and boring! oh and did I mention their music is sheite! |
