It was a vile and disgusting thing to do spitting at a 14-year-old girl, just watched the video, was a few seconds of madness. But the driver of the car (her father) was driving and using a mobile phone and seemed to be leaning over the girl, so Carragher did not aim a mouthful of gob deliberately at the girl, but lost his temper at her dad who was goading him and looking for trouble. That is how it seems on the video, and now Carragher is being treated like he’s the biggest criminal ever. Totally wrong, yes, but both men were acting like idiots ! And what if the father had crashed and injured his daughter.
Report saddo March 12, 2018 4:49 PM GMT
She'd have got more than a bit of spit on her if her father had run into the car in front, ridiculous behaviour and he should be prosecuted, the evidence is irrefutable.

JC fooked up, he of all people should know that a camera is nearly always rolling. At least he's confronted the issue instead of hiding away like some do, so a bit of credit there.

I think he's a very good pundit, especially when he's on with Neville. I'm 50/50 as to whether he'll lose his job. As someone else said, he'll just walk into another one if he is sacked.

Report SlippyBlue March 12, 2018 5:43 PM GMT
What ever way you want to dress this up, this was a very spiteful assault on a young child under the most mildest of provocation from the father.
He can count himself lucky the father wasn't someone who confronted his actions and knocked the beejaysus out of him which in my book would have been fully deserved. He should be facing a criminal charge of common assault and have his day in court.
Report pixie March 12, 2018 5:57 PM GMT
Surprisingly it looks like he's kept his job. Sky have suspended him, when if they were going to sack him they would have already done so, imo. A few weeks TV ban to show that they 'don't tolerate this sort of behaviour' - when in fact they are just doing exactly that and slip him gently back into MMF for a nice low key Stoke v Leicester or something like that.

Real men don't spit like a hissing snake or wild animal, they ignore or ask the driver to pull over to sort it out. What kind of cretinous cockroach gobs through the window of a moving car with a kid in the passenger seat after hearing a score taunted? The people who defend him probably spend their time spitting at people themselves so no big deal. I'd have more sympathy if he punched someone in a pub or wherever but what he did wasn't just vile, it shows him to be the subhuman piece of filth he is. On a personal level I will be glad to see the back of him, his whining scouse voice and lack of vocabulary grates and don't think he brings anything to the bloated money grabbing corporation of sky anyway other than being a fcking irritant   .

Of course spitting isn't nice, but its commonplace in Britain today, mainly among the leftists and riff raff who seem to think its acceptable behaviour
If we recall the tory party conference delegates in Manchester, again, were spat at by demonstrators
delegates and activists and journalists faced an onslaught of phlegm as they arrived
four journalists, including Michael crick were spat on and a campaigner for housing charity shelter found herself being called a ***t

The policy of spitting was thought to be ok by those on the left and is a form of abuse uniquely of the left in Britain
Perhaps these labour supporters should  should share wolfs description as vile inhuman pieces of filth,
And each of them should lose their jobs, if they are employed
I don't know
Report lfc1971 March 13, 2018 6:13 PM GMT
Now its very simple, the spitters vote for Corbyn, that's the sort of person that Corbyn attracts, twiiter was full of leftists defending the spitting, that's ok

I thought that the driver must have said something absolutely vile for jamie to react like that, but I  have just watched the clip with the sound on.  Unless it has been altered the guy driving does not give any abuse really, he notices him and shouts hello and jamie responds by waving and then the driver  just taunts 2 1  2  1 and jamie winds down his window and spits Shocked.

And then of course the magic moment when his daughter says there is spit on me.  The driver was not horrified or outraged or angry, in fact he was almost laughing and  saying ' jamie carragher has just spat at my daughter' - you could hear the  money tills ringing in his head.

now here is the simple fact. The 14 year old girl should say that nothing further should happen, that it should not have been in the press in the first place and is an incident between her father and Carragher and no one else
That is the only way that this will not impact negatively on her , but quite the reverse
It would be great credit to her
No other course of events , such as carragher losing his job, and the impact on his wife and children will be good for her in her own good and calm and happy thoughts ahead
Report lfc1971 March 13, 2018 6:39 PM GMT

Report lfc1971 March 13, 2018 6:52 PM GMT
we have to be very careful in the modern world, things ,incidents become amplified by social media, its on every tv screen and paper
Now what happens if something goes wrong, for what was certainly not a nice thing, but if carragher loses his job, if there are problems for his wife and children at school because of the incident being everywhere and not a fairly nasty thing that could have been forgotten about and not really harmed anyone
And then something goes wrong,  how does that help any of the people involved
