As long as your fly is zipped and the old man ain't hanging out you should be okay.

As long as you do it for LGBT I think you'll get away with it.

I always hold the door, for another person, as it is less awkward than going first!
|
|
By:
Of course if it's a revolving door, one merely stands to the side and with an open palmed gesture indicate that the other person precede you. Then you grab the next section of the door and yank as hard as you can, propelling them into the building like a scene in a Norman Wisdom film.

If you are a white heterosexual man it's probably harassment. The 'victim' wouldn't dare complain if the 'harasser' is vibrant or a peace-lover.

It was the British who taught the rest of the world how to behave in a mannerly way,
they didn't like that |

I like it if a woman holds open the door for a man, there is something nice about that as well,
I cant explain it |
|
By:
It's not a problem. If a feminstazi complains just say you thought she was a a bit of both so confusion reigned.

here is the sensible and logical way to look at this in the modern world
men should not open car doors for women passengers because it would be ridiculous for women to open car doors for male passengers,.... and they are not using the same door of course but it is fine for men to hold open a door into a building, and it is fine for a woman to hold open a door into a building ...because they are using the same door So it is merely good manners That's that sorted |

I agree with lfc.

Apparently, it's a sexist micro-aggression!
![]() What a load of old BOLOX. If I go through a door and hold it open for another bloke behind me, does that mean I am sexually harassing him too? |
|
By:
I've always held doors open for others whether they be male or female, it's just common courtesy.

Ive explained all that Gin

I like it if a woman holds open a door for me, its even nicer than if a man does it

What about walking on the kerb side when with a lady? Is that patronising or chivalrous.
|
|
By:
NOT if its a fridge door.

I,ll worry about that if the occasion arises

I do that as well Injera, old school me.

A disgusting crime.. Right up there with offering your seat on a crowded tube or slipping a cheeky finger in as a form of greeting!

Women and children first off a sinking ship? Or just shove your way to the lifeboat in the name of ekwality?
|
|
By:
you should aim to be the last off the ship, just before the captain
of course if the captain is female that doesn't matter, she should be last to leave |
|
By:
I think the lifeboat/sinking ship scenario was covered by Capt. Francesco Schettino during the Costa Concordia disaster.

We almost agree on something but that is a very good explanation lfc! Personally I would open a car door for a lady too and walk on the traffic side of the pavement. I don't care what people would say or accuse me of. Manners maketh the man! Oh and if some gender warrior pulled me up on it I would advise them that I neither wanted to inflict violence on them or want to have sex with them and would then invite them to have sex with themselves. |
