I doubt it, I've a load of silver coins and some gold, only worth scrap value as a rule. Some George 2nd or 3rd- cant remember- are worth a few quid, but I would never see new issue coins as an investment. The oddest ones I have are silver and gold replicas of postage stamps commemorating Princess Anne's wedding to Mark Phillips, who on earth would see them as collectable now?

i wouldnt buy the silver set for £910 , but future value may depend upon how many silver sets are sold, and to what extent this issue of 10ps take off and what sort of follow up they do.
saddo some old coins are worth a lot more than scrap valuethere is a decent site of what you might expect to pay to buy coins,http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/values/index.htmli wouldnt buy the silver set for £910 , but future value may depend upon
The Royal Mint normally have a massive mark-up. Previous issues like this have had no investment value. Scrap value a fraction of the cost and being sold 5 years later for less than bought for. Did something similar with 50p pieces.I'd steer clear of.

there was a set of gold 50p minted in the 29 designs
these were not for sale but given to the designers of the coins , which had been selected mostly via competition
these must be worth alot of money,
maybe the mint made another set for themselves ?
but dont confuse them with gold plated tat stuff that appears on ebay
the silver olympic 50p coins go for £20-40 but i dont remember what they were sold for and did not buy any.
making friends with your local post office could be rewarding to get the 10p coins at face value....

I've got a Queen Elizabeth Silver jubilee crown dated 1977.
I noticed they sell for less than a couple of quid on ebay.
I wonder what they cost when they were minted?
Long tern investment? I doubt it.

the plastic box arround them that the banks gave away with them is possibly worth more than the coin itself
them crowns were marketed as an investment and folk could buy a roll of 20 for £5, in official royal mint cardboard.
far too many people bought into the idea, so theres nobody who wanted one that couldnt buy it at face value....
"crowns" minted now have face value of £5, but you cant buy them at face value from bank, mostly available in mint year sets , or in presentation pack for £12 and a poor investment, imo
most coins under £50 the dealer will offer half value,
better coins can sell at auction for near to 90% of value, but you pay commish, some dealers will list your better coins on their site and take 10-15% of sale price if they sell.
