Had a watch of an episode from last week and the crowd is stone dead nowadays. Can remember the days of the rock and Austin and the crowds were awesome. Don't the wrestlers get bored performing in those dead arenas?
That Austin saves team wwf had hairs on the back of my neck standing when watching it live. JR the commentator was awesome on commentary as well, something you simply don't hear on the commentary nowadays. the arenas are packed full of kids and parents and tbh I don't know if I could perform in those arenas if I was Chris Jericho, The Rock, Brock Lesner, esp after experiencing the attitude era crowds. Its very PC now as well, no blood, no women managers, no chair shots etc, its really plain tbh, not "entertainment" in any way shape or form.

Still goosebumps now for me I watch the odd Youtube vid out of boredom but I haven't watched anything up to date for at least 15 years can imagine the PC changes in line with the rest of the Western world

I remember in the 60s the wrestling being on on a Saturday afternoon. Jackie Pallo about the only name I remember. Was woeful and obviously faked. Have never watched WWE but is that on the same lines ie stage managed? Whilst having never watched it I have seen some ads for it. Guys shouting out to opponets, found that cringeworthy.

All the English crap was woeful and unwatchable whilst the WWF (at the time) improved massively into the 90's with much improved athletes and storylines. It's a shame the improvement was mainly due to drugs which has killed at least 40 before the age of 40 and but entertainment wise it was good value especially for the UK audiences watching on SKY.

It is staged managed. but back in the attitude era the performers had more freedom on the mic and with regards to using weapons etc, thus wrestlers built their own character because of it. nowadays they are told what type of character they are going to be, have zero freedom on the mic and the matches are dull as dish water. performers like Stone Cold are sadly long gone, wrestlers are probably petrified of saying the wrong thing for fear of losing their jobs. CM Punk I think was the last real star in the company and after he left I lost all interest.
