The British love awards. My local Police Force are always giving each other Commendations and Awards.

There are too many award ceremonies these days. Viewing figures have been dropping off quite markedly for years now. Two reasons: there are too many of them, so there is a dilution effect for each show and less and less people are interested in them anyway.

What I saw was awful. Stormzy was bad enough "South London in da house," but there was another "artist" on before, stood atop a Damian Hirst style container, inside which one of his "homies" attacked a high-end car with a sledgehammer. Let me say that we had the tv on in the background and only looked up because we thought the service was failing when said "artist" was muted because of his profanities.

God knows what European culture will be left after Brexit.
