It’s just a shame all those forced into poorly paid work struggling to survive couldn’t have been at home watching this they would have loved it.

What I don't understand about this joke event is why they stopped and re-started the race?

This next race hasn't been stopped and  re-started after a massive crash.

Think the rule is that if they don't all make it through the first corner (unless a fall without contact), then the race is re-started

Seems like the yellow card is because she cheated?

yellow was for the second contact.  She put her arm across the girl who was trying to pass on the inside.  That's not allowed.

I wondered about that, Dan. looked like she was trying to keep herself up at the expense of taking the Belgian(?) out.  What a cow.

Reckon they should have a mass start like they do in the cycling, with about a hundred of them on the track on the same time; noone would know what's going on, but it would be quite fun to watch.

I think we'd all agree, there are some fantastic looking derrieres in those lycra sports trousers

Best watched on Eurosport; they just cover the sport.
Balding and co have probably never heard of the likes of Martin Fourcade, Marit Bjoergen and Marcel Hirscher.

Danny - excuse me for changing the subject, but during the Lakeside event I did put out a call to you on the Darts Forum. We needed much more info on your historic Raffle win there.

Let's all hope that at the end of the Speed Skating comp, all the girls will come out together on the ice in those lycra trousers and perform a mass bend-over to take the cheers of the crowd.

There was a report at the start of the games about the amount of supplies they have for the athletes and it worked out around 30 condoms each, or thereabouts. Crazy

Sorry Alun, missed that.  I'm afraid that a tatty 20 pound note in an envelope is the sum total of the winning raffle story.  Didn't even pay for the cab home Laugh

Oh yeah.  Just seen it.  Will cast my mind back to the great day and respond.

What's next up on the beeb?  Four hours of curling?  Or perhaps some nobodies in the bobsleigh?

The bobsleigh has a certain hypnotic and calming quality about it I feel. Probably perfect viewing for people in care homes on a diet of Zombie Drugs.

Christie has been disqualified from the 1000m short-track speed skating, ending her Winter Olympic hopes. After falling in both the 500m and 1500m it was hoped Elise Christie could secure a medal in the 1000m. She fell on the first start, but finished second on the restart, only to be disqualified.
