Honestly, I don't get them. Yes, the first episode seemed like a lot of characters coming altogether at the same time, actually, it was like a string of them and at some point I got lost of who was who but anyway, should TV always be empty? Or worst, bare? I don't think so.
It's the BBC and the 2nd episode finally got me interested, I'll give a 7 stars to this pending the 2 upcoming episoded but by far, I don't think it deserves anything below that.
Yes, The Honorauble Woman was a 9, I know the BBC can do better, we all do but I'll give this a chance.
7/10
Too clever for the average reviewer

None of the reviewers seem to have clocked that the script is written by acclaimed playwright David Hare ("Who he?" ask the confused viewers). For me it works as satire, drama, black comedy, and all-round entertainment. Hare might not be everybody's favourite story teller - I think the 'Turks & Caicos' came in for quite a bit of stick - but I love his dialogue, characters and sense of fun.
Some IMDB reviews :7/10I don't get all the bad reviews....thiagosblancos 21 February 2018Honestly, I don't get them. Yes, the first episode seemed like a lot of characters coming altogether at the same time, actually, it was like a string of them and
Things I learned from watching the latest laughable BBC lefty ‘drama’ (i.e. borderline Party Political Broadcast) called ‘Collateral”.
1. The drama suggested that the Army is full of ‘damaged’ individuals (e.g. unpaid assassins and for good measure a rapist who takes advantage of the junior female ranks).
2. The Intelligence Services (and ex-Army officers) were portrayed as institutionally corrupt, and as b**t as a 9 bob note.
3. The script proposed that the ‘progressive’ and ‘tolerant’ side of the Labour Party should support No Limit Immigration and Free Everything for as many “Refugees’ as want to come here. Anything less and you are seemingly complicit in being part of a ‘Nasty Little Country’. (LOLOL) Oh and for good measure we were led to believe that all the nice Labour MPs should vote against policies that would give greater powers to Anti-Terror authorities.
4. A mouth-watering one this. We were led to believe that ALL ‘Refugees’ (even if they’re just Chancer Illegal Immigrants) are apparently totally wonderful, and are loved whoever they go. Especially if they are pregnant, and are sent to NHS hospitals to give birth to ‘British Citizens’ and thus receive lifelong support at the UK taxpayer’s expense. Far more desirable people than, for example, the security personnel deployed to take the illegals to the maternity unit.
5. Apparently it’s vital that millions of ‘Refugees’ should be allowed to enter Britain, because they provide key information about, erm, other (Pretendy) Refugees who are in fact terrorists. Who would have thought it?
6. Lesbian Vicars should be allowed to live with their illegal immigrant, drug demolished, Oriental girlfriends, but sadly the backward and neo-Fascist Church isn’t having it. Oh and we leaned that Progressive Labour MPs should also do their best to enable such illegal immigrants to stay here.
Did I miss anything? The only thing that was strikingly absent was that there were no ‘Trans’ characters. That particular community is however ten-a-penny in the afternoon BBC drama “Shakespeare and Hathaway, Private Investigators”, so another box resoundingly ticked.
I can only imagine that the ‘green-lighting’ of these dramas is dependent on adherence to these idiotic guidelines. The propaganda must never be allowed to stop.

Promising for about the first 2 minutes of episode 1. I stuck with it, wish I had’t. By the end I just did not care. Not one of the characters evoked any sympathy in me. Is that what it’s really like living in that London.

While I'm sure alun2005 would find fault with any programme with left or liberal sentiments in this case I think he has a point as it did seem quite preachy and not particularly subtle in its message and seemed determined to tick as many boxes as possible as quickly as possible.

BBC probably though they were onto a winner with David Simm & Carey Mulligan not to mention Nichola Walker who is brill. But dear oh dear what a bore fest it turned into.

Yes, once the majority do switch off, and voice resentment at paying a licence fee for content they don't want, the BBC is finnish. Can't come too soon.

Maybe if all the Herbert curtain-twitchers stopped watching all these programmes that they know are going to be lefty luvvy pc-nonsense, the viewing figures would go down and the companies would be forced to show proper programmes aimed at older white men who are scared about the foreigners down the road.
Just a thought.
