agree with you Cooperman. I cycle the A6 in Derbyshire on a regular basis which is fabulous. However was fortunate enough to cycle the A6 last summer from Kendal over Shap to Penrith which is absolutely stunning.

Observant viewers of Aka's A82 link will notice a property once owned by Jimmy Savile just after the 2 minute mark upto 2mins 10secs.

I used to travel the A82 regularly Aka but the A86 just pips it for me.  The A85's no bad either & nor is the A9 north of Perth Cool

Any of them except the godforsaken A3, I've spent countless hours on that troublesome road trying to get home.

Try that at any stage of the A82 and you'll have a million midges for company.
Report SlippyBlue February 5, 2018 9:19 PM GMT
Akabula the midges in Scotland are unrelenting, heinous fiends. Unfortunately I know that first hand from when I used to go to up there often.

What's the criteria here?

If it's driving then look no further than the sumptuous A272 that meanders along the South Downs. If it's for dogging then the A7 is hard to beat. Naturally.

I hope you use somewhere with an exorbitant parking charge, keep the riff-raff away from Mrs Mustang.
Report Johnny_Mustang April 10, 2018 2:22 PM BST
Couldn't agree more Saddo. I looked long and hard for a suitable spot withing the congestion zone but alas, to no avail.

It's discrimination to exclude B roads so I'm nominating B3306 St Ives to St Just scenic coast road.....

A272 (Nap)

The West Sussex stretch much prettier than the East.

I live in the East Cry

I remember Atlantic Drive in Ireland.
Was the 60s though so might have been updated.
Spectacular and no midges.
Report DenzilPenberthy April 10, 2018 10:26 PM BST
For scenery has to be the A66 but seems like cheating given the Lake District is close by.
A68 underrated plenty going on between Darlington and (nearly) Musselburgh.
