it took 11 years for europe to get a trade deal with canada and they are the best of friends.
and another point the english government this week put a cap on the number people entering the UK .the cap is full. so if it is full now and nobody can enter without a work visa, that means no more footballers can come to the UK to work. so it has started already, while the FA Remain tight lipped about the whole situation. |

'We're not morons': Brexit divisions harden across Britain

By:
Brassy, why are you spouting all that project fear propaganda when you don't even live here?
Most of their lies have been debunked already. We don't have to have a trade deal in order to trade, we already trade with most of the world despite being in the protectionist European Union. After leaving we can trade under WTO rules which would mean cheaper food and clothing. It might not please Irish and French food producers, they will just have to adjust to the new reality. |
By:
who will you trade with.?
usa=in 10 years time canada=15 years time austraila=serious transport costs scandinavia=shortage of products. russia=they will be cutting your gas supply next winter. ireland =in bigger trouble than yourselves third world countries =yes, but poor quality stuff .cheep yes but will cause more unemployment germany =own you trains and will privatise your transport and increase all round prices. British gas is not owned by the uk. this is my opinion its not propaganda. IF things go as i expect the fat cats of germany will introduce vulture fund companies that will buy all your assets at knock down prices. it will be a long tough road with mass emigration (and where are you going to emigrate to?) |
By:
it you dont get a deal with europe you are in big big trouble,of course i am told that everyone knew this before they voted.
so its my opinion that its all bull and the UK Will still trade with europe ,and still stay in the customs union in other words they will pretend that they left the EU and carry on trading telling all that they got a good deal. |
By:
Brassie we currently import more goods than we export in the EU SM.
Do you really think that all or most of that trade will stop? Don't you also think that if they impose unreasonable tariffs we will do likewise? |
By:
We trade with all of those countries now and more. We have been eating South American and Australasian meat since before I were a lad and that's a long time ago. Are they poor quality? I've had some tough Irish steak I can tell you. I see people buying NZ lamb butter and cheese and Brazilian corned beef every time I go to the supermarket. They wouldn't buy it if they were unhappy with it.
The fat cats of Germany own Europe already and look what they are doing with it. I assume you are living in Ireland at the moment, how is the building industry doing? Are you happy with the level of youth employment? I hope that Germany has been treating you well since 2008. |
By:
i am only giving an opinion, the best thing for the UK is that the rep.of ireland pull out, than France will follow, and maybe Spain, this would be good enough for the Eu to break up.
but Europe will not give the UK easy exit because other countries will follow.WE will all have to wait and see what happens, but dont be kidding yourselves ,it will be very very difficult for the UK to go it alone, and then you will have scotland looking to get back into europe,And all you will have is the word of Donald Trump who says he will give you a trade deal in 10 years time at best. |
By:
ireland is bolloxed but the rich are doing well(we are lucky to have made it before this brexit),but germany are buying up all the bad debt .
but ireland is the fastest growing economy in europe at the moment.but they let all the big giant companies come to ireland and give them big government grants to create employment. But ireland can still trade with europe as a member, when the UK leave (if)ireland will get a lot of the UK businesses that want to trade with europe, but on the other side of the coin they will be hit by the tariffs imposed by their trade with uk.some say it could be as high as 50%.so it will be swings and roundabouts, god knows how it will end. |

By:
no - let history show may & corbyn fcuked the uk
By:
No ! And if we live in a democracy there is No reason why we should vote again
Contrary to the MSMs narrative, people cannot have changed their minds because the outcome of negotiations are not to be publicised to the unclean electorate (as Sharia May stated) If there is another vote then we live in a Facist state " |
By:
I'm a remainer - alot of people seemed to vote Leave as a protest vote in one of the most ill-informed campaigns of all time (from both sides). Now there is alot more information out there, people can actually make an informed vote - Farage on the night said that this referendum should not be the only one (when he thought he would lose) - cant see why the same rules shouldnt apply now the vote was to Leave
By:
"I'm a remainer - alot of people seemed to vote Leave as a protest vote in one of the most ill-informed campaigns of all time"
No, this is what remoaners keep patronising leave voters with as the idea that the leave voters were voting in ignorance makes remoaners feel better, a lot better than "we flat out lost the argument as our argument and scare tactics failed". Same as desperate remain voters keep coming up with 350 million on the side of a bus, which (apart from that desperate dipsh1t Boris) leave voters didn't and don't care about. |
By:
Everyone voted in ignorance - Remainers included
By:
No they didn't I just don't want us to be run by a foreign bureaucracy - hope this helps.
By:
So you would have voted the way you did regardless of whether it was hugely damaging to the country (not saying that it will be)
If thats the case, your vote wasnt ignorant, but you certainly are |
By:
Translation: We tried really bad scare tactics, if you voted leave after reading the scare tactics, you are a bad person.
By:
funny how the insults flow from the eu propagandists
By:
I voted Remain but don't for one moment think there should be another vote - least of all now.
FatherMaguire is right: nobody REALLY knew what they were going to get, since there was so much bull and bluster from both sides. The Brexiteers were just better at it. |
By:
we voted out so frickin get us out
By:
"the most ill-informed campaigns of all time"........
I disagree, Cameron and Osbourne spent 9million sending us leaflets, I read it and voted out...What they sent just reinforced what I already knew ! |
By:
obama came over and lectured us but there was so much foreign russian involvement ha ha we just didn't know which way to turn as everyone and his dog from foreign countries told us how naughty we were if we voted out
what put me off was all those Spetsnaz guys hanging around looking menacing at the polling booths INFORMED!!?? I would say we woz smothered in it. |
By:
ps and they lecture us to this day to turn round an independent country's democratic vote
By:
From the front page of today's Guardian, it looks as if the country is warming to the idea of a second referendum.
5000 polled, they say. |
By:
I am not surprised considering how much the eu propaganda machine has spent on trying to smash brexit and punish us for voting the wrong way.
A lovely family to belong too cough cough the bbc hardly allows any pro brexiteers on their programmes - all helping to pile the huge bias on us wrong 'uns and intefere with a democratic vote. WE ARE LEAVING |
By:
You are so heartless, Moisok, can't you see the poor remoaners are hurting inside?
We should organise a "hug a remainer" day so we can wipe their moist eyes and help them to forget their sorrows. It will take time for their sadness to pass but one day they will see how right we were to leave. |
By:
Best of 3 I say. (Of course if 'Leave' win , it should be carried on until they get the right result).
By:
snowmen like you foinavon should be flogged for having such traitorous attitudes
it will be Boris's Isle of Man retraining camp for you **** the revolution |
By:
come???!!!!!
By:
Yes, but the first one shouldn't count as "we didn't know what we were voting for". So three more at least.
By:
The Remain Team:
Cameron Corbyn Farron Sturgeon Osborne May Carney The OBR The IFS The IMF Obama BBC Sky C4 ITV Even the Archbishop of Canterbury!! The Leave Team Nige (led a party with 1 (one) MP) Boris (made up his mind 6 weeks before the vote) Gove (who?) Daily Mail. And they STILL lost????????!!!!!!! ![]() |
By:
It could be like soccerball and have a voting event every saturday
By:
The real problem for the Remain camp was that they couldnt play the man not the ball - normal Conservative policy is to play an entirely negative campaign, and get their chums in Fleet Street to smear any credible opponent like they did with the Corbyn IRA nonsense in the days leading up to the election - this seems to be their main tool in elections, but one they couldn't employ here, cos although there are probably 1000s of things they could have used to drag Boris through the mud, they couldnt do it to one of their own
By:
Total rubbish. LOL because remain was so positive, right and not horrendous scare mongering? And it was cross party, every party bar UKIP was essentialy pro remain so why attack the Tories? Well that's explained next sentence, you like Corbyn. Well any credibility goes right there, the guy is skum.
And fleet street and the media are sooooooo pro May and Boris? He's roundly ridiculed and has been for years. What planet are you on? |
By:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ako2yD8-j5k
David Cameron told us we'd got nothing to worry about if we left the EU ( Nov 2015) then predicted economic ruin and WW3 if we left. Corbyn who had always been very anti EU said we should remain. Is it any wonder some might not have really understood what they were voting for. One thing they hoped they would be voting for was some control over immigration. And that lack of control was the one thing you could be sure of if we stayed in. |
By:
Just Checking, if you don't believe the mainstream media are pro-Tory we will have to disagree (the fact that the first 9 pages of the Daily Mail were mudslinging IRA garbage on the day of the election might be an indicator though) - Boris plays up to his image of the bumbling buffoon, and probably courts the publicity he gets.
As for the campaign, the Remain campaign ran an unsuccessful, almost entirely negative campaign. The difference between the Remain campaign and a Tory election campaign was that they couldnt destroy the credibility of the face of the campaign (Boris as it turned out). While Tories campaigning is extremely unpleasant, it is also sadly very effective, but without the tool of destroying the Leave leaders character, it wasnt good enough |

There should never have been a referendum in the first place so I can't see the need for a second referendum. Quite obviously 'the people' should not be in charge of such an important decision. In every facet of our lives we employ experts to do things for us, whether it's going out for a meal or having work done to our homes, assessing our health or making our laws. Then for the most important decision in all our lives we think we know better. It's quite bizarre. We all know David Cameron put party before country by having a referendum (partly to bringing his party closer together and partly to try and destroy UKIP). What a mess he made.
Brexit decided by the people is quite obviously ludicrous but we have it now and have to deal with it the best way to not ruin our country. We should leave that to the politicians who whilst far from perfect have more idea than the vast majority of people out there. Unfortunately the far right, particularly the media, won't allow this to happen. |
By:
but without the tool of destroying the Leave leaders character, it wasnt good enough
Tells you all you need to know about lefties. Their arguments don't hold up to scrutiny so they rely on smear campaigns. |
By:
asparagus: 'Quite obviously 'the people' should not be in charge of such an important decision. '
Agreed, God forbid we let the people VOTE to appoint PMs, MEPs, local councillors, Plod Commissioners etc. Tell us, which dictator do you admire most and why? |

Referendum to enter, referendum to leave................simples !!!!!!!!
