in other words a vote on should there be another vote.

best of 3 or first to 6 ?

By:
Let's completely undermine democracy as we know it and turn the country into a banana republic by voting again; as those who were defeated have only just finished collecting the toys that they threw out the pram.
By:
they could wait until the deal is struck and then put it to the people of the UK to have the final say.
i really think the politicians did not explain the last vote correctly to the people, and most people did not realise how big an impact a leave vote would result in. everyone is arguing and nobody really knows how serious this leave vote could change their lives . imvho. |
By:
nobody gives two hoots about democracy if they lose their employment. And that could happen.
and when its all sorted out all the politicians will be long gone living in their second homes in France or Spain. leaving the people to pick up the pieces,if all goes pear shaped. |
By:
......I have an inkling you voted 'remain'
![]() ![]() How was that campaign any different to a General Election? Do you think most of the electorate bother to read party manifestos? The nation has spoken. So stop being so dramatic; just deal with it and stop bellyaching. |
By:
If, as you say Brassie, lots never understood what leaving meant maybe we should give people IQ tests and only allow those with an above the average mark the right to vote.
By:
Could we not "reorbit" the moon, make it part of the EU, and put remoaners on it?

By:
hi JC, i am just saying that i think the people of the UK should have the final say on the deal that is struck, because they voted for something before they seen what it means.
nobody knows yet what it will be,and i think the people are entitled to be the people who decide if they like it or not. i think the usa have already claimed mars as their own when they landed spirit and opportunity. |
By:
I disagree Brassie, the politicians did tell us what would happen, remember Osbourne, he told us a leave vote would result in a collapse in house prices, the economy falling off a cliff, 10's of thousand of job losses. Boris told us we would regain control of our border's, our money, our laws and be free to trade with the world. I felt fully informed and voted accordingly.
By:
i dont care,i dont live in the uk anymore, and i can go to one of my villas in the south of France if i wish
,i am just standing up for the UK people, and all i say is that they should have the final say when they strike the deal, otherwise the politicians will decide themselves, and look after themselves. |
By:
BF can only go up to 1,000-1 that you would feel the same way if the vote was to 'remain' that you would request a 2nd vote. Just to be sure the nation actually knew what they were voting for Brassneck.
Of course democracy would have been very virtuous in such an instance and we could all pretend that all is well in the world........ |
By:
osbourne never said the the whole financial city of London would move to Paris, and that is possible.

Brassneck; are you Lilly Allen per chance??!!

i think there is a lot of red herrings on the news to keep everyone talking while something super big is going on in smoke filled rooms about brexit that the public are not been told and it will come out in the wash when it have been signed in europe. Then the cat will be let out of the bag,but thats my own opinion. And it will be a big big cat.

Mon dieu.
Brassy, we all received a glossy pamphlet through the door well before the referendum telling us what would happen should we vote leave. Take a look at this and see if it rings any bells if you were in the UK at the time. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/why-the-government-believes-that-voting-to-remain-in-the-european-union-is-the-best-decision-for-the-uk/why-the-government-believes-that-voting-to-remain-in-the-european-union-is-the-best-decision-for-the-uk#fn:32 After reading that patronisingly biased piece of propaganda and listening to Osborne telling us he would have to implement an emergency budget to save the economy if we vote leave and hearing similar coercion from Obama and the Governor of the Bank of England, a majority still voted leave by a margin of more than a million. We knew what we were voting for, we more than knew the risks so there is no excuse for the government not getting on with it. No second vote needed. |
By:
The remain vote was never just about staying in. What it really meant was going further in: Full integration.
By:
Yes....I could not be be bothered to vote because i thought it was a forgone conclusion.....Never in a Million Years did i think the leavers would Win.
By:
Yes, the second referendum makes much more sense than the first.
Democracy did not end on June24 2016, and the Brexiteers "Stop All The Clocks" strategy shows how frightened they are; but the country cannot really get past it until we vote on terms we know about. Let's see what's on the table in March next year and decide. Bring it on. |
By:
If you don't use your democratic right to vote you cannot complain about the outcome and want another one because you are unhappy about the outcome.
We all knew it was a vote to leave or remain in the EU. We voted out. So let's just get on with it and stop the pretence of a democracy by calling for another! No matter what camp I was in the result would have been accepted without the clamour to 'do it again.' 'Stop the clocks............??!!' On the contrary; the will of the nation has spoken so just make it happen. |
By:
I haven't read the comments but how the economy is doing right now and the promise it is showing, what's to change?
HELL! We might even pass a law or three. |
By:
"If a democracy cannot change its mind, it is not a democracy."
By:
Democracy = rule of the majority.
Majority said 'sod off EU.' With a relatively seamless transition thus far I think the result would be an even more resounding 'out' vote if anything. Not that it matters. The die is cast and the deal will be done. I eagerly await misshapen bananas! |
By:
And then we'll have best of three perhaps. If a democracy can't............... Oh whatever.
By:
And wonky turnips. Bring it on.
By:
I bet you do, Charwell.
By:
Now then unbi.
By:
And broken biscuits. Actually, I think you can get those.

Chocolate Fingers perhaps, Charwell.

Sour grapes?

but if everyone knew what they were voting for why did the shoot themselves in the foot, ruin their country, loss of tens of thousands of jobs, a mother and father of a recession and a possible famine, sending parts of the UK back to the 19 th century, and breaking up with Scotland.of course thats only my opinion but i have been known to be correct from time to time, and further still ,if the UK people who voted leave knew the pitfalls that are about to occur why did they take the massive risk when we all know it will take 10 to 15 years to get a trade deal someone else.thats 15 long years of deep recession, unemployment, and shortage of goods and services.
By:
No way brassneck. Do you think that past trade deals were done as a favour to good old blighty? Countries trade with us because the business is good. DEAL with it.
