No more than a political move by the leftie NHS pen pushers, labour and the bbc. I'm surprised the NHS copes so well when it cannot know the number of people they are expecting to serve each year.
For a better NHS we need higher taxes. |
By:
you can thank blair for starters

hospitals get busy in winter
one local north east hospital was visited by a bbc journalist and left after being told they had cancelled less than 10 operations and were unlikely to cancel any more a and e funcioning well, and ambulance service at capacity meanwhile police are having to ride shotgun for fire service as bored youths start fires and thrown bricks at fire brigade on arrival |
By:
they are still paying off massive debts thanks to blair's lot
By:
Nearly 8 years later and still blaming Labour. Pathetic. "Brexit Ransom" being blamed too. You really couldn't make it up.
By:
they have to provide a health service to circa 3 million people that werent planned for.
By:
Hollow apologies from politicians who subscribe to an ideology of self preservation mean nothing, especially when they can lean on the private sector for their own future health issues (remember thatcher holed up in a paid for hotel?)
If ideologies further the stripping of assets and appeal to opportunistic greedy tendencies by encouraging a culture to look after ourselves at the detriment of the collective then it will only ever get worse. |

The whole concept was about cutting public spend, lowering tax and encouraging all to go out and grow your own wealth as much as possible, indeed even be competitive in the ways of doing so and we all shall flourish as a result.
Well it didnt turn out that way, that mentality only fanned the flames of selective responsibilities and those who made egregious wealth just fooked off and came up with creative ways of paying even less to the treasury. |
By:
they are still paying off these huge sums for private public scam FK BLAIR
By:
Blair who worshipped thatcher?

This must be the most over used headline for the last 30 years, almost every year that I can think of the NHS quangocrats get a hotline to get the news teams to printout their press releases. Lazy journalists and the sad part is that people are becoming immune to the constant scare stories such that the genuine issue have little concern any more.Cut out some of the stupid offerings and fine the drunks picked up in A&E and stop health tourism then sack 75% of the pen pushing managers then use the money saved on genuine shortages.

Hospital waiting lists in the Republic just broken previous records.
Malta's main hospital packed to the max Australian flu being blamed. In the UK we blame the evil tories. |
By:
Well done Dusty. A brilliant-no matter how tenuous- way of blaming the vile Thatcher for the vile Blair's dreadful actions. I hate em all so no party axe to grind here.

Incredible isn't it?
The current administration gets no admonishment from so many of you. In fact the 1st reply blames 'lefties', the BBC and Labour. The NHS has been cut and sold off bit by bit since 1979. Much of the money put into it now is given to private companies to run different parts of the NHS. From car parking to shops, from the stopping of free eye tests to free dental check-ups, with the closure of 100's of hospitals... Think about how many hospitals are no longer open that YOU remember being there years ago. The reduction of bed numbers from nearly 300,000 beds to 142,000 beds being available. Care in the community. Centralising ambulance services. Replacing care with a ridiculously expensive computer system. The closure of nearly every A&E in the country, thus completely over-burdening the few that remain and which are far too big to be as good as they were. A MASSIVE raft of unnecessary 'Trusts' and 'Managers' Being ripped off by Pharmaceutical and held to ransom by greedy Pharmaceutical companies. GPs now given too much workload and resigning under the stress. You're all old enough to remember when it wasn't this bad. It started in 1979 and hasn't stopped. Look up the hansard report on hospital closures in 1986. As the OP says. The money spent on bombing and bombs (and HS2 and warships come to that) would more than solve the NHS crisis. Cheap politicking on this forum avoids the facts, spoils the forum and is REALLY boring. |

Then don't do it
By:
The NHS employs 1.4 million people , it's a business like any other and out of control and it is becoming greedier and more currupt than ever

Here's a fact Trump is president of the United States , good
By:
Now whether you disagree with that matters not , that's a fact also

Mr Eboue 05 Jan 18 11:27
STUDYFORM: Sadly there are people on here that cannot engage in reasoned debate. Nowadays there's so many grubby little Donald Trump apologists |
By:
It has, Mr Eboue.
I was introduced BF and to the forum in 2005. In fact I think it my by my 13th BF birthday today, I'm not sure. I then introduced another mate to it and "spread the word" just because; It was great fun, always banter, a few arguments, loads of people on here any time of day or night, quizzes, about 20 threads on the go at any one time and it was informative. And no politics. That was all on the politics forum. Then some little political parties told members that using social media and forums was a good way to gather support. It didn't work, but the people doing it remained. Others escaped from the politics forum. The forum itself changed and needed moderating, when BF outsourced it. Now it isn't moderated properly and is frequented by people with an agenda. As you rightly say - A Mad House. |

By:
It's ok, we're not going to run out of pages, write whatever you wish
And others can do the same , Its very easy |
By:
Of course people like you might want to determine what other people write , too bad
By:
Mr Eboue, there is also a handful of snowflake types who assert that anyone who disagrees with them is small, dirty and a supporter of Donald Trump.
By:
That rude, that might tell you more about Eboue than the good American people who voted for Trump
Well people like Eboue and studyform can only be what they are .. rude |
By:
There's another one
By:
People go to A&E with any complaint these days I bet most of the staff want to send them home and tell them to stop wasting their time.
When did it become the norm to turn up because you were pi55ed? I remember the day when you only turned up for stitches or because you had a fracture or a broken bone. People just expect too much. |
By:
it not cos they are just p1ssed but because they cant handle the booze and get into the fights and need patching up--bless!
By:
I just don't want people to get away with biased untruthful statements - on any platform
hope this helps the darling blair set up quit a lot of what we are reaping the open doors policy (for votes) and the private public money scam we are still paying for |
By:
we now have up to 8 million extra here
also 40 million owed by foreign tourists having babies and clearing off but that is just right wing lies of course |
By:
no it was the tories that started PFI IN 1991-92
By:
The NHS is very likely to be making a net profit from treating non-UK patients.
By:
Only very likely? If we are not why would we treat them?
By:
For the same reason that you or I would get treatment.
EU law means that British people travelling in the European Economic Area get emergency treatment on the same terms as a local. |
By:
40 million they are unable to get back
hope this helps |
By:
sorry anxious
but................ PFI deals were invented in 1992 by the Conservative government led by Sir John Major, but became widespread under Labour after 1997. The schemes usually involved large scale buildings such as new schools and hospitals, or infrastructure projects which would previously have been publicly funded by the Treasury. |
By:
Like i stated earlier the Tories invented the policy and New Labour carried it on , it was carried on by the coaltion too
By:
80 million in cash has already been extracted by the initial developers from the deal at Pinderfields, Wakefield in a few short years. The trust will be in hock for 30 years.
By:
sorry to have spoilt your day anxious - this is why I am suspicious of certain posters and certain media tv outlets in only providing one view
the tory government under blair was the worst of the lot I am ashamed to say I was a party member through all of this including being anti eu then seeing the party turning 180 degrees but then there were nice jobs on the gravy train for the kinnocks no - everything Labour is not necessarily good and in fact quite a lot bad - doing a great deal of damage to the country |
