Betfair unfortunately seem uninterested in fixing this problem that's been around for months so here's a workaround, at your own risk.

Please remember you've done this, as if they change their website it may stop it working properly. This is on your head to have a functioning memory!

The problem appears to be cache.betfair.com doesn't exist anymore, (a trace to it fails) so your browser times out trying to connect to it.
If you force your computer (windows) to think your local machine is that, then the browser will try to connect and immediately fail and move on.
To do that, go to this location:
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
and open the text file "hosts" in notepad.
At the end, enter
127.0.0.1 cache.betfair.com
save file. Enter just that number, that is always your own computer so will be quick and safe.

Now enjoy being able to use the forum without going to make a cup of tea while your browser fails to connect to a site that isn't there.
It will instead look at your own machine and immediately see it can't get what it wants.

You can obviously remove this line again in notepad any time you want. Betfair should fix their website of course but this problem has been around for so long I've given up hope!
