Are they guardians of society, or the scourge of the Earth ?
It seems more likely to me that they are often self-serving fantasists, who dream up various "threats" to their countries to justify their bloated budgets, and war-mongering tendencies.
The latest threat that we apparently need to counter, 24/7,is the pesky Russians cutting our undersea internet cables using mini submarines... plunging our economy into Hell ?
Sure they could do it......just as they could have done on any day in the last twenty plus years.....they could also poison us, infect us all, or probably fry us !
Let's just hope they hold off cutting this vital cable before..... they provide sumptuous hospitality to the World's dignitaries...and a glittering spectacle to the World's masses,.. when they host next year's bladdy World Cup !!
You couldn't make some of this "imminent threat" stuff up....or could you, lol...
