That's odd, when I typed So, a message appeared suggesting you were all useless etc ... The site has a memory.  Unlike several of our senior citizens.  I did have something to share but forgot to bring it up.  Back in a mo.

If you're over 60, subscribe to The Oldie. So many gems. Last edition remembered Izal/Bronco - the John Wayne of toilet paper - don't take no sh*t from no one.

This article was about Wimpy Bars, from one of the original franchisees. I thought they were a strangely English accident - but no, they were an American chain, named after J Wellington Wimpy, a buddy of Popeye who loved burgers. The original burgers cost 1s&3d. Red and yellow topped Formica-topped bar. Formica tables and bentwood chairs. Desserts were Lyons square blackcurrant or apple pies at 1s.

Last time I ate in one was early seventies - the South Kensington tube branch. Run by Iranian (Persian as we called them then) franchisees.  Turned out they had an arrangement with (at least) one of the major London dog tracks. Oh well, I expect we'll be turning more Korean sooner or later.

I should stop wandering around. Just discovered Peter Skellern had a song in Blade Runner. The gods are laughing at me.

Time to ... start chopping people up with machetes.

Our ma used to take us for one after shopping on a Saturday morning, they toasted the bun inside. I always assumed they were named after the geezer in Popeye.

Thought "Rachel's Song" from the Blade Runner soundtrack was a very piece. Remember watching the film back to see in which scene(s) it was played. But never found it. Turned out it was never used on the actual film soundtrack. Must have been one of them "Mandela Effect" moments..

Bodil I've heard things you wouldn't believe, the Glimmer man starting a fire off the shoulder of Orion, Tommy Toes shooting C - beams in the early morning near the Tannhäuser Gate, all those moments can all be found in the chit - chat archives, like tears from a forum ban, time to disappear.
