Sica Dan's link led me to the clip I was thinking about earlier. I didn't quite get all the items of the order correct - but there were actually a lot more items than I remembered!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWNv-EM25Gc Terry and Bob ordered: 2 pints a roast beef sandwich with lots of chutney a pickled onion a pasty a cheese sandwich, a scotch egg and a packet of crisps 2 sausages with mustard Total: 82p!! |

Sad news indeed. For my money, "Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads" is still the yardstick for British sit-coms. Script, dialogue, performances (including support cast) all unsurpassed. Peerless I would apply the above descriptions to the fabulous ' Early Doors' |

My favourite with Bolam was the Beiderbecke Trilogy. Loved the dry humour from all the actors in that series, and being a jazzer myself, loved the music as well.

James Bolam was interviewed on Front Row (starts around 10 minutes in, and lasts about 5 mins) available on radio iplayer:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09fj9k7 Bolam denies: 1) there was a feud -- said they just drifted apart when they stopped working together; 2) that he blocked repeats -- he would not have the power to do so, and in any case, it is repeated all the time. |
