Yes, I read mine for several hours every day and take it with me when I go out to read at odd moments. I prefer it to paper books. The paperwhite has back lighting which means you can read easily in poor light or no light. You can also adjust print size and degree of boldness which I also find useful.
The only drawback I can find is that it is poor on pictures and diagrams, so if you like illustrated books or history books where you have to follow maps and diagrams then it's better to buy a printed book for those.

Thank you Foinavon . My old model is ancient now and , like me , it is getting slower by the day.

I had mine for Christmas 2014 and it's still going strong.
Another thing I like about it compare with the old model is the touchscreen.
If mine pegged out I would buy another the same day.

I have had mine since 2009 , maybe earlier than that , and it is fading without a doubt.

Highly recommend the Paperwhite.
A considerable step-up from previous Kindle models

Heads up for Black Friday, I believe they are being dropped to £70+

Just ordered one, £30 off seems a bargain.

It is to be hoped that the items on offer are not refurbished goods.

They usually state if it's refurbished or new.

I just checked, it says "New from 79.99" in blue.

I know but if , in years past , a Kindle was returned as faulty the replacement was often a repaired model.

I have one and it's imho far better than the normal one if you ever read in low light, as other say it's got a backlight but it's a nice one, very even and doesn't use much power, battery seems to last ages.

Your local Argos has just knocked £30 off black or white version

I have only ever had the Kindle Paperwhite, so I have nothing to compare it to.

It's brilliant, I wouldn't be without it. I read quite a lot of books with diagrams and pictures. They are always ok but  in black and white.
If I need to see something more clearly or in colour I just go to Kindle on my iPad Happy

I bought the proper Kindle leather cover too. That is well worth buying. I read my Kindle daily and after over two years it still looks new.

Hello Emma-Dee Happy

I've had several covers for my Kindle. The one I like best folds into a stand and also has an elasticated strap so it can be held without pressure on the thumb. It also eliminates the danger of dropping it when reading in the tub.
