It was always a great program Smartie. Good clean entertainment. The male singer Robert White, from the US is probably one of the best singers ever IMO. Check him out on Youtube.

Maryetta and Vernon Midgeley are my favourites from the show
Not sure where the first song originates from or even what it's called, but the final song would appear to be a well known song from ? the forties called This Is My Lovely Day, which I think has some great lyrics.

I love This Is My Lovely Day, from the musical Bless The Bride. My mum used to sing it on stage. amongst other songs. I love Pretty Vacant and Paranoid too, so not exclusively old fashioned in my musical tastes. ;-)

You told me that on a previous thread, Kenny, and the first song you said is called Please Don't Go, though having listened to the Youtube link you posted, although the tune sounded similar, the lyrics were different?

Please Don't Go was a top 10 hit in the early70s by Donald Peers, a singer who was getting on then (not really but he was to a early 20s chap) and he'd been a music hall star my mum told me at the time. But the tune was a really old song with different lyrics I think.

Maybe it was because of WW2 and the sense of mortality, but the lyrics to This Is My Lovely Day, the day I will remember the day I'm dying, they can't take this away from me, quite sad when you think about it.
