The documentary charts Donald Trump's business dealings in the 1980s, when against his father's advice he entered the casino business - and went on a massive spending spree that included a yacht, an airline, a helicopter and an American football team.
He also published a best-selling book - The Art of the Deal. However, as the decade drew to a close, Donald's life began to unravel

Thanks for the heads-up but the title is Dream not Nightmare.
Just watched the first episode. Seemed fair enough. Dodgy characters (mafia controlled concrete) held at arms length; subsidised by massive tax breaks from New York.

From the first 2 episodes you realise this is not a prog sympathetic to Trump so have to keep that in mind. What is striking though is what a brilliant self publicist he is, often a snake oil salesman but genius at selling himself as a brand and capable of being very charming. What is also striking is how chaotic his business dealings are & how impulsive & narcissistic he is. There seems to be little planning & no serious long term vision. It is all about the now with the Donald.
Have to admit he is a fascinating character but not in a good way. His character flaws are so manifest that the fact he overcame them to get voted in as president speaks to just how genius he is at selling himself. Also how gullible much of the electorate were but so many were sick of the status quo that it was a perfect recipe for him. I get why his pitch was so attractive to many middle Americans but can't believe they thought a property tycoon who was born with a silver spoon in the mouth in NYC & who has filed for bankruptcy six times yet continued to live a lavish lifestyle is the guy to understand their plight. I guess it shows what contempt career politicians are held in these days.
