What you have in this country is the usual capitalist trick of pretending that equality of opportunity actually exists , no those who have the most money simply buy the best education for their kids and they then usually end up with better jobs, life - chances , etc , something called statistics usually prove this

72 posts of echo-chambering and virtue signalling, yet none of our usual leftie panelists have educational standards high enough to know that the `Tory`s` in the thread title should be `Tories` i think you will find both are valid. Tory being singular Tory's being the plural as in belonging to a group, Tories being the collective as in the party as a whole. Trying to be a smart arse often backfires. |

First we see the classic and risible tactic of the left, deflect to distract, employed by Comrade Osmond.
Then, and you`ve got to laugh at his imputant effrontery, we have an illiterate product of the Socialist system trying to give English lessons! I suggest Google, or perhaps you could find out what a `dictionary` is, and learn how to read it; then familiarise yourself with the rules of English grammar. For the benefit of typical lefties, who want everything for nothing, with no concept of doing things for themselves preferring the Nanny State do it all for them, let me help you, you poor unfortunates; Google `definition of Tory`s` and it asks; `did you mean Tories?` Google `dictionary`, enter `Tory`s`, and confirmation comes; `no definitions found`. Lefties, eh? Chortle!!! |

Oops! Chortling away, forgot to add that the word you are trying to pretend could be "Tory`s" should, of course, be "Tories`"
The very thought that ANY leftie could ever outsmart ANY good and right-thinking person is preposterous; anybody professing belief in such twaddle as Socialism is, by definition, not as bright as those who know it for the tosh that it is. |

Are you struggling with the word "plural" it means denoting more than one, ie more than two. Try & keep up.
if you resort to semantics the rest of your argument must be weak |

My `argument` was over, last November; we won!
A gentle reminder, from http://wordinfo.info/unit/3777/s:and In the study of origins, it was always better to be "right" than wrong, or even "left"! Words associated with the right side are generally complimentary or have signified something desirable, but those pointing to the left are quite the opposite. For example, even in modern times, everyone tries to get up on the "right" side of the bed and hopes to stay on the "right" side of one's boss; that is, if the person is in his/her "right" mind. Other languages reflect the same bias in favor of the right and against the left. In Latin, the word for "right" is dexter, from which has come the English word dexterous or dextrous; meaning "skillful". This is what a person who uses the "right" hand is expected to be. An ambidextrous person should be even more skillful, since he is described as having two "right hands. On the other hand, the Latin sinister is the left hand, that is, the wrong hand. Furthermore, left-handers were thought to be unlucky. In Roman augury, or fortune telling, birds that appeared on the left side were interpreted as being bad luck; however, those on the right side presaged good luck. Now, in modern English applications, sinister means evil or ominous. "Lefties" have not been regarded with a positive attitude even in French and Old English The French word for "left" is gauche (GOHSH), which indicates awkwardness or lack of social graces. "A guest who drinks from the finger bowl, no matter how dexterously he handles it, is still gauche." English also has favored the right over the left. The word "right" developed from Old English riht, which meant "to lead straight; to guide; to rule." Left evolved from Old English lyft, which meant "weak". English prejudice against the left can be seen in such terms as "two left feet", meaning "awkward", and "left-handed compliment", which is not considered as a compliment! And, from https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/39092/how-did-sinister-the-latin-word-for-left-handed-get-its-current-meaning In the past, to be left-handed was considered touched by the Devil. As Wikipedia notes: Historically, the left side, and subsequently left-handedness, was considered negative in many cultures. The Latin word sinistra originally meant "left" but took on meanings of "evil" or "unlucky" by the Classical Latin era, and this double meaning survives in European derivatives of Latin, and in the English word "sinister". Meanings gradually developed from use of these terms in the ancient languages. In many modern European languages, including English, the word for the direction "right" also means "correct" or "proper", and also stands for authority and justice. In most Slavic languages the root prav is used in words carrying meanings of correctness or justice. So, if you were left-handed or sinister, you were associated with evil Summary? `Right` = to be in the right, good, and proper `Left` = wrong, unlucky and evil All seems fairly obvious to me... |
