A man who only wanted to get rid of a unwanted spider has managed to burn down his home with a blowtorch.

Officials in Tucson, Arizona, say that they responded to reports of smoke and flames coming from a mobile home in the Arizona city where a man had been using a blowtorch to remove a spide from underneath his mobile home.  CrazyCryExcited

A Blowtorch Laugh

That's crazy. Never kill a spider, they catch all the bugs & flies in your house. Unless it was a venomous fecka. But still, yeh, a blowtorch. Absolute madness. Surely a Darwin award incoming here.

I totally agree with you hfink, I would never kill a spider. If one plots up in my house and builds a web I just let him/her get on with doing their spider stuff and leave it be.

Nice one Slippy, same here, always leave them alone if I see one in the house. Never understood people who are 'scared' of them!

I couldn't dream of hurting a spider, that idiot would probably hire a crane to repair his watch!!

Got a few spiders in the house and don't really mind them at all ,Arizona story sounds like one of those "promoted news stories " but could be real but easy to make light of something serious that is prob nothing like what's being reported ,I wonder what kind of spiders he was supposedly trying to eradicate ? have a large house spider that seems to do the same routine over and over but when I am sat in front of TV she likes to come and sit under my feet ,move my feet and she scarpers off but soon comes back ,not sure if she is after the moisture off my feet and got thinking about spiders and what they drink ? Anyway it's a primative instinct to take fright as the cones of your eye pick up slow movement on the periphery of your vision ,she sits under my feet and after a week my slight reservations of her shooting up my trouser leg and sinking her fangs into my neither regions have receded ,thinking of putting a bowl of milk down for her ,reckon she is thirsty ,she is a big girl ,walks over the newspaper and the edge of a single page moves and when she climbs over the sweetie wrappers on the floor they rustle .
