Her whole argument when pressed seems to be based on her own personal experience which as you suggest is quite unique.
She was happy to bring up the violence that happened in building the Empire but wouldn't accept the violence in black peoples history was relevant.

Suggesting the UK is inherently racist is just silly given the way that immigrants were not just accepted but welcomed into our country in the 50s, 60s, and 70s and even the 80s. What has happened since is a certain group having caused resentment by their refusal to accept the British culture whilst trying to force theirs on us.

The ironic thing is this person is probably a model as this person has light skin ! For this person to say white people were the most violent and dangerous species on the planet was in itself racist ! (I have referred to this individual as "this person" so as not to upset any of the more sensitive souls on here)

It was most depressing seeing this person parroting hate speech which has no relevance to the present in this country. It is alarming to think that these beliefs are likely to be prevalent among the younger generations and are probably being taught to the young by those who should know better and some with malicious intent.

I had a Chinese Canadian lady here yesterday, a writer. She has lived in London for a good part of the last decade, and now resides in Paris. She cannot believe how much the race card is used in this country and in her experience there is little racism here compared to many countries, including France. There are food establishments near her home which will only serve her take out food and drink, her Black American flatmate has actually been refused service altogether. I doubt this could happen here any more.

People sometimes confuse intolerance with dislike. They can force people to tolerate almost anything, they can never force people to like something.

Tolerance = the ability or willingness to tolerate the existence of opinions or behaviour that one dislikes or disagrees with..

In practice those who talk of tolerance are often very intolerant of differing opinions! See those Americans who didn't want Trump to be inaugarated edspite the fact he won the election.

'Diversity' :variety, miscellany, assortment, mixture, mix.

Again, those who espouse diversity are quick to silence those who have a different view. For example, the BBC's silence on the FLA last week was deafening.

'Extremism' is now a derogotary term aimed at those who believe a marriage is between a man and a woman! (see Amber Rudd's latest ramblings).

A 'radical' is a Muslim who blows up a concert but NOT a Muslim who has banned his wife from riding a bike or threatens his kids with apostasy laws if they leave Islam.

We may have to reevaluate the theory that all races are equal if she continues with nonsense like that.

Unfortunately, being equal does not mean being compatible. I would not choose to share a country with people like him/her.

spot on, wit-ham, the UK is easily the least racist country on the planet. Anyone who's done any reasonable amount of travelling around the world will be able to see that. Staggering levels of racism exist outside the UK. Go to Eastern Europe for example, even some parts of western Europe. And don't get me started on Asia, but nobody wants to talk about that because a lot of the racism there is the wrong colour (and therefore can't be called racism )

"progressive" - not a new word but the PC mob have given it a completely new meaning - a way of creating division between what they see as good versus bad, right versus wrong. Its something they use to shut down debate and stifle any conflicting voices. Its very clever and a powerful manipulation of language - and its clearly working because people are terrified of not being "progressive"

We need to start calling people out for using these politically weaponised words.
