Why can scientists not turn ocean water into drinking  water,bottle it and give out free to all people.
After all they can send a man to the moon so why can they not change ocean water to drinking water.?

They can....but it is costly....some Arab states do it..... Desalination plants.

No....it's full of nasty stuff.

They can as others say. There is ways of doing it that oddly enough DO involve boiling it.
The problem is to remove salt from water. THe inverse of this is to remove water from salt, which is why you have salt planes, and evaporate water off which leaves salt.

But the water evaporated is pure. Which, if you harness this allows you to take sea water and boil it off and catch the evaporated water and drink it.
IF i remember correctly (can't be arsed googling) there can be kits to do this on life rafts, though it's small quantities.
