Just watched it 5 times :
Ben and his mates are being swung at by a guy with a bottle in his hand, Ben takes this guy on who falls to the floor, not many punches landed, bottle swinging guy's mate tries to get Ben off, Ben focuses on this 2nd guy, Ist guy trying to intervene, Ben connects with 2nd guys chin, he goes down, 1st guy still arguing with Ben, so Ben throws a connecting punch at him, Ben having not forgotten that this guy was trying to bottle his mate....video ends abruptly. Ben has done nothing wrong. Self-defence ! |

Just another privileged sportsman behaving badly. Regardless of the outcome, he is not acting like a role model for the youngsters who see him as a Test cricketer with a highly paid ECB contract( £700,000 retainer + £12,000 per Test Match + £5,000 per ODI + £2,500 per T20) Had it before with Flintoff, Peterson etc. about time the ECB made a stand and removed his lucrative contract.

Small bottle ....33 cl ....you have to watch a few times.
If you're out with your mates and someone attacks one of you with a bottle, it is perfectly reasonable to make sure the assailant cannot carry on any further attacks. |

Well it is Quite obvious the Guy is trying to attack someone with a Bottle ,when this happens you have 2 options Run or Attack ,Ben has chose the latter when he 1st takes the guy to the ground he disarms him of the bottle which you hear rolling on the Floor, not sure what Judgements need to be made ??
The scumbag with the Bottle needs to charged not Mr Stokes . People using the Likes of Bottles and glasses Deserve all they get . |

I have to say he is a young man. These things happen to some people. Why do we hold these young men up? The world is so beige at times. I just want to see him play cricket. If he has done something criminal let the law deal with it!
