i think it has more to do with the fact she's a woman. somehow the judge decided that her gender made the act less severe.
you can't possibly imagine this sentencing, irrespective of class and background, if it had been a drug-adled man stabbing his girlfriend. |

Still find it hard that the judge described the stabbing as relatively minor injury, must live in a different world.

Am I the only one who feels that a custodial sentence is unnecessary here? The likelihood that this was a one off, she had no previous, that she has gone through rehab off her own volition, would make it appear that she is hugely unlikely to re-offend again. I reckon the Judge called this right.
I appreciate she should be punished for what she did, and she has, but not giving her a custodial sentence hasn't made her a bigger threat to the public than if he had. And yes, I would. |
