Merlene Ottey failed by 0.28 seconds to reach her eighth Olympic Games, aged 48.
At the age of 52, Ottey competed in the 4x100 meters relay at the 2012 European Athletics Championships. The Slovenian team only ranked No. 22 in the world before the 2012 Olympics and only the top 16 teams got to run. Fkin pus syBolt. |

![]() ![]() ![]() He says that he wants to play football. Different skills which he may or may not be able to develop. He'd be a good crowd puller though at matches. |

Saying for years he would play for United.Boltron coulnd't control a ball NAP |

He has a debilitating shoulder injury!

pretty sure linford christie at 32 is the oldest 100m olympic champion. bolt is exceptional but chances are he's gonna start slowing down markedly pretty soon
By:
Gatlin was clocking 9.74 when he was 33, Bolt would be 33 in Tokyo.
By:
he knows hes under investigation for xxxxx

He wants to go out at the top. Some do -- AP McCoy retired while he was still champion jockey. And maybe he's got a better idea of the young upcoming sprinters who'd threaten his crown in three years time.

I have on good authority that he
wants Yohan Blake his buddy to win an Olympic Gold at the 100m. ![]() |

Andre De Grasse disrespected Bolt by
not slowing down in the 200m semi so Bolt will train one of his jamaican friends to beat him up. I don't know why it's disrespectful him by not slowing down though.I think we could say Bolt wanted to fix it but Grasse said no we go full steam. |
By:
Surprised he's only 30.
Let's face it he's achieved it all and should look at other opportunities now. It's not exactly an interesting event. The training must be painful and he runs so damn fast the races are over in less time than it takes to boil a kettle. |

Why would he risk going on and getting caught for drugs and ruin his legacy at this point?
By:
nobody gets caught taking drugs, they are outed. they all take drugs.
look at the competitors of thirty years ago. Seb coe was a stick figure. there were fatties throwing the hammer. people looked normal. now they have muscles on muscles and their excuse is sports science.. better nutrition, better work outs? look at the rugby guys? they are muscular tanks. i ran for twenty years, i've got solid muscular legs. these guys are abnormal. they are taking something. Flo jo wasn't caught - she died young - heart issues. tell me that wasn't steroids? and why didn't it show up? because it's all buttoned down. if they need an example they let one take a hit. |
By:
If everyone i taking drugs, its still a level playing field. And Bolt the best.
By:
i'm sure there are some failing on no drugs.
or no blood doping. everything should be allowed. this is just compounding the BS by spreading lies about what you are doing. being secretive and deceptive. i gave up watching after Ben Johnson. |
By:
Of the 52 sportspersons currently serving a ban for doping only 1 is from athletics but an amazing 27 are from rugby. That's over 50% so why is this not a major concern and why does it get no publicity?

put my bet on the world record being broken... 110/1.
he gets a bonus from a sponsor every time it's broken? wedge o cash. he's been slowing down at the line? i think it's do able. |
By:
I saw that market.
Decided to lay Bolt instead. |
By:
Reminiscent of Sergie Bubka who used to get a huge bonus from the promoters if he manged to break the pole vault record. He broke the record 35 times!

When was the last time Bolt beat the world record?
By:
Purely physical events like Cycling and certain athletic events that have no skill level gain more attention for drug use probably because it's more prevalent. Drug takers in sports like football, Tennis and Basketball can improve physically all they want and minimalizes recovery time but there's no drug to increase natural talent so your level will never increase much and neither will results, whereas in predominantly physical sports it dramatically improves results, some records I just can't believe, even British held ones.
By:
someone else might break the record. i think it's due?
By:
Yeah, I've a strong feeing that Bolt will lose tonight.
By:
he's been pulling up at the end of races?
i've watched him in the news. As a past sprinter myself. I find that unusual in the 100 metres? 400m maybe? I've stuck another two quid on at 110/1 - ? |
By:
Since 2008 there have been 148 drug violations recorded by UKAD. 8 were cyclists, 11 from athletics and a massive 61, thats 41%, from rugby. Yet have you ever heard the media acknowledge that rugby has a problem.
The problem appears to also be getting worse as if you just take violations during the last 2 years the figure from rugby goes up to 52% of all the people banned. |
By:
i haven't heard anything about rugby - but it's not a surprise
look at the build of rugby guys in the seventies and now? different species? |
By:
Athletics cheats get the big headlines because it's all on the clock. 100th of a second can make the difference between gold and silver.
Hard to prove a rugby cheat gains that much of an advantage. They're all massive including the wingers. Very unnatural. |
By:
Because most of the doping offenders in Rugby are from the Junior/Amateur ranks.
By:
And there have been quite a few articles on Rugby's drug problem. Seems to be a big Welsh problem.

Reminiscent of Sergie Bubka who used to get a huge bonus from the promoters if he manged to break the pole vault record. He broke the record 35 times! Bolt has only broken the world record twice and the last time was 8 years ago. Of the 14 fastest 100m times in history, Bolt only has 4 of them. |
By:
^ is it the top 4 times ?
By:
No
By:
Absolutely no chance of him breaking the world record. And anyone saying all athletes are on illegal drugs is an idiot.
By:
that let's me out - i said those not taking the drugs are lagging behind.
By:
Bolt has The top 3 times in history.
The third is joint with two others |
By:
The fastest time this year so far is outside the all time top 150
The fastest time last year was by Bolt....48th in the all time list. In a race determined by 100ths of seconds, top 10 or even 20 times are rare. |
