Well i tend to disagree in Mablethorpe where i bide
for a few months of the year i own a few properties you see. We have a beach and we can go paddling with shorts on the kids can go out in a pedal boat and have fun at zero costs. Alfred, Lord Tennyson, once frequented Mablethorpe. It is said that he used to shout his poetry aloud towards the sea. Very Happy place may i add Little picture i took earlier on today everyone in good spirits but it's mainly UK people here i don't know if this will put you off. This is what happens when you privatize rail services.

every so often. enough with your land rovers and grouse shooting already. |
|
By:
Jeezes..me a land rover and grouse shooting? Rat boy would probably feel sorry for me and leave stuff and shove my tud up his own
|

Come up norf and feel the tension go away, Bishop Auckland better than Blyth IMHO but,as with London, there are areas to avoid but most are welcoming and better places to live.
|
|
By:
I go to Newcastle and Gateshead 3 or 4 times a year to see family and friends there and that's about the only times I venture North of Bedford. I do enjoy my visits to the North East a great deal but I'd absolutely hate to live there.

It's all choice slippy ,lived in London with family in St Albans and Surrey, quite happy up here.

Never known anyone to move North of Hertfordshire before, quite strange to me that people move north rather than South, primary reason must be for cheaper housing/costs ?
In London studio flats in tower blocks can go for half a million, they could get you 4 bed house, Garden and garage in many places oop north. |
|
By:
Black Shuck - presumably you are from Suffolk?
Lots of nice places up north where rent is pricey and lots of shyteholes where the rent is cheap Cheap rent practically guarantees ratboy will eventually come round and defecate on your carpet |

Rat boy was an infamous youth that broke into god knows how many properties and shat wherever hed been..think he was a manc..but i might be wrong
|
|
By:
Love it in gods country...Lancashire...you lot can stay down there, speak umpteen languages, be totally ignorant and arrogant, don't know who your neighbour is, be scared to go out at night and spend a fortune on property and beer...have fun

Just had the misfortune of having to spend the weekend in London. Couldn't wait to get away from the noise, dirt, crowds, expense and ridiculous traffic situation. What's the appeal?
|
|
By:
Only the strong willed survive the hustle, bustle and grittiness of London. Northerners are too soft centred to hack it imo.
|
|
By:
IMHO .. Lancashire and Staffordshire, very friendly people. Big difference up North is the smaller middle-class. As a result there seems to me to be less disposable income. For Southern lifestyle with Northern prices try south Lincolnshire / north Cambs but choose a town without a railway station, they're cheaper
|

black shuck
1 - shirley the rents in Gt Yarmouth, just by you, are the cheapest! 2 - there no booats up north |

"if you're tired of London, you're tired of life"

By:
About 300 years out of date, that quote ?
|
|
By:
Over Priced, Dirty ,Over Populated , Crime Ridden , Traffic ,Parking , Enough to make anyone Tired ,Anyone Growing old in London will struggle,Unless they still have their family Around ,its not a Town For Pensioners thats why so many leave ...
There are a Couple of Nice Areas Such as where Slip Lives but they are Few and far between . I Half Left 10 year ago ,Left 3 year Ago ,There is nothing Down there for me Other than My Parents Graves ,Used to Go Down for a weekend and go to the Dogs while there ,Thats even Gone Now Used live on a road in Tooting with a Mosque on the Corner My usual Daily View from the front Window Was Mobs of Muslim People Trying to park their Cars ,Lovely ... London is not the London I grew up in |
|
By:
I'm not from London myself but it's a great city imo, only New York comes close but London has something even New York doesn't, history.
I don't see how anyone can get tired of it unless you live in a deprived part of it which is fair enough. There are more green spaces in London than any other City of it's size as well. Where in England is better than London, plenty of cheaper and greener places, but nowhere near as buzzing. |

northumberland- englands best kept secret.
im actually in walton on thames area from sunday for just over a week ( dog -sitting) .dread paying over 3 pound for a pint ,packed trains, busy roads, people with funny accents etc. |

Im getting old mate The BUZZING of London is a distant Buzz ,Ok for the younger Generation and People with Plenty of Money to throw around ,I prefer Country Roads these days
And would certainly Prefer to live by the Sea as to living in most Cities .. |
