A have ago hero has been charged with grievous bodily harm after the robber armed with a golf club died a few days later. Seeing a picture of the deceased, he was built like a brick sh1t house so fair play to the fella for taking him on ! It took the old bill 30 minutes to arrive which in itself was probably a contributing factor. Put down, keep em down ! Whatever it takes. Hopefully the CPS will see common sense! Mind you I think they'd struggle to find a jury that would give a guilty verdict !
Report jed.davison July 17, 2017 6:13 PM BST
Hopefully the CPS will see sense? The Police wouldn't have charged him without the CPS giving them the office.

Just this week I helped a fly and a wasp that had got stuck in my food to live.  But if a burglar came into my flat and I had a gun I would shoot him without a moments hesitation.   Who is to say what he is there for?  Should I just let him come in and politely ask him what he is doing in my flat and then let him rape me or worse?

Breedingmad...................really !!!! This person was a big lump and entered into a supermarket with a golf club ste on intimidating people and robbing the place. What if he had hit some poor innocent sod earning minimum wage (Doing the right thing.........working) and they ended up with brain damage ???? Fair play to anyone who has the courage to jump in ! Given my age and frailties if I was in that position and had managed to put a powerful man down he'd be in a choke hold, I'm not letting him up to hurt me or more importantly others ! As I said earlier it took the police 30 minutes to arrive which meant untrained people in the art of restraint had to do the best they could. Breeding ad I sincerely hope that a member of your family never finds themselves in a dangerous situation but if they did how would you like it to be handled ? Someone to jump in and help your loved one or wait 30 minutes for the police to arrive ! Anyway got to go, just going to log onto the just giving page Crazy

Industrial injury nothing more. How many times had he got away with it. Hard to believe he had become a

Report Dr Crippen July 18, 2017 12:43 PM BST
A simple measure that would clear up any confusion about ''having a go.''

And would deter a lot of crime into the bargain. Would be for the law to simply state that anyone operating outside of the law in certain areas of crime, should not be protected by the law.
Those areas could include grievous bodily harm, house breaking, burglary, and armed robbery for a start.

Or maybe it's opinions such as these that are leading to such a broken society? Such sympathy for armed robbers is surely off the mark.

I'm not aware of the details of this story as the OP hasn't posted a link. However, I fail to see how someone fighting off an intruder using any means available amounts to or leads to people becoming vigilantes. Anyone overstating the situation in this way has clearly lost touch with reality.

Every time I pass through the city centre bus terminal I see
some poor person with a wound from a fight? The last time on Monday
the cops were out and trying to get a drunk off the floor.
He had two black eyes and a cut on his fore head.
Just outside of Pub, so I deduce it was a pub fight.

The police often cycle through the terminus in a patrol car?
Methinks they should have an officer patrolling the bus terminus
24 hours a day. Too many people getting lamped.

the police station is 400 metres away? yet no officers walk through this area?

One of the few creatures I wouldn't help STUDYFORM. We played hide and seek in rhubarb fields as kids and I hid on top of a wasps nest. I was probably 8 and outran my 11 year old brother, and others, home. My mother was stung numerous times times getting my clothes off, and I was literally covered in stings. I don't think we even went to the doctors Laugh
