proliferation of fatuous degree subjects with little or no career leverage should be reviewed

my niece recently graduated, it seems some of our Universities are no better at offering careers advice than they were 35 years ago - or at least the services that are available are not delivered proactively and there is no mandatory requirement for students to start preparing for life after their degree.

I'm generalising on the basis of second hand information, others might know better.

What happens if a student leaves the UK after graduating.

dunno, I'd be surprised if there is n't a clause in the loan agreement to cover that but can totally see that the authorities would have a hard time enforcing it.

I bet the figures on the total value of loans vs the total that has been recovered since inception would make eye watering reading.

Any British or foreign student who leaves Britain after graduating should not pay back any of the loan if possible, Britain doesn't deserve it.

I know I'm biased but I thought Labours Richard Burgon got destroyed last night and labours policies were shown up for what they are.......weak ! As for Caroline Lucus, why do they even bother giving her airtime ? She will never be in power or lead a significant party. Of course she knows that the EU would give us the worst deal possible so that we'd stay in Europe, although she hasn't taken into consideration the British public don't like to vote for "Done deals" as Theresa May has found out. Then there's the pay the public sector workers more because they'll pay more tax !  If the government pays a public sector worker a pound, they pay back 20p in income tax, now where I went to school that leaves a 80p deficit ! That's not to say I don't think some in the public sector don't deserve a pay rise, I like a larger percentage of the population would prefer to pay more taxes so that in your hour of need you get the services you deserve.

I much prefer being lied to and conned by Jacob R-M than the likes of Abbott or May its all so much more restful and less screechy

On Brexit i've yet to find a young-un who voted to stay in

Im a ticket office clerk at a reasonably busy station that is a busy commuter
station for London.And around a year or so before the vote the refunds for season tickets was
on the rise although not as fast as 2006/7 it was starting and we remember what happened in 2007/08
  As things are so-called progressing people in jobs like mine will soon be disappearing and with
that the ability to spot problems in advance as no doubt happened in other jobs.

The MAJOR flaw in Lucas's plan has got to be that public sector wages originate from tax so to pay more to get 20 percent back is utter madness
