It's a shame that people are getting banned for fairly innocuous posts - It all seems a bit OTT.

Isn't this btf's 2nd ban in a few months, Can't augur well for a return. I had btf down as a good egg. Anxious is no loss with his leftie let em all in rhetoric.  Can't be a coincidence that anxious appeared to be an enema of btf and they both got banned!

I got banned for a fortnight without ever once breaking the advertised forum rules. Despite being the target of frequent abuse ( the C word and F word included) the worst I ever called anybody was a buttercup or a cupcake. For this, one anonymous user saw fit to report me eleven times in the space of three weeks!

Hmmm! Who could that possibly be I wonder?

He was making some very useful contributions on the Grenfell thread but then veered off and starting being abusive to me and AT for literally no apparent reason which I pulled him up on and he became more abusive, on the anagrams thread he started attacking me again out of the blue, unprovoked and unwarranted, you can still read the posts, every name under the sun was aimed at me, even laughed at one of them. It may have been aimed at me, but I'm not the only person that can read them, I'm not the only person that can be offended by them, I'm not the only person that can report them and fwiw, I did not report him neither could I care less if you don't believe it, he made his own bed and now he's lying in it. Clearly has some kind of temper or drink problem to keep going on these late night rants. Not sure why anyone would make excuses for him, he lets himself down with the way he becomes so vitriolic and personal esp considering nobody was insulting him on or near the same level. Should know better at his age.

I saw the spat involving Boxy last night - before much of the offending material was removed - and I suspect that Boxy has got his ticket because he used a couple of offensive words (beginning with an F and a P) in describing Scandinavian Haven. No doubt Boxy knew full well that he was contravening the rules and it might get him banned but probably didn't care. Where's the consistency though? Others appear to get away with worse on a regular basis.

In answering my own question, it is probably because some of us have better things to do than keep hitting the report button.

Exactly. The Horse Racing forum is a prime example. There used to be a lot of good info and banter on there. These days it is totally unrecognisable.  A lot of petty squabbles on this forum as well with people trading insults when they are unable to put up a suitable debate!

I thought you had posted a well balanced reply scandy, until the last line. A shame we won't have to read "spiv" or "fanboys" 50 times a day? Not really is it

I was reported eleven times by the same anonymous user (no prizes for guessing who it was). None of the 'offending' posts even came close to contravening the rules, they are still there in fact, but I was still given a two week ban nevertheless. There are several on here (several usernames anyway) who see fit to take offence at anything that doesn't fit their own agenda and quickly hit the report button. Massive long rants of lefty nonsense are usually a good indicator to spot the culprits.

They are such sensitive souls, they'll probably report this post, too!

I had one take umbrage with what I said and threatened me with violence before telling me he was reporting me.
Needless to say I hadn't broken any of the T&Cs and I never report people so neither of us got a ban.
BTW he hasn't thanked me for not reporting him for the threats.

Just one person noticed that I had been banned. What a surprise! They even knew before I did! I didn't realise for a week.

How exactly would one know how many times one was reported, so many of my posts have been removed (because the likes of the above who say they haven't reported anyone before and reported them), 11 is quite specific, why would any moderator count up and tell you that number

I'm sure underneath boxing is a good person, however anyone reading the anamgrams thread knows by any forums Terms and conditions that is a banning, he effed and blinded for ages. 11 times is specific because that is specifically what I was told. I wasn't informed who reported me, just the number. Not difficult to understand really, unlike your post with its usual array of spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.

Foinavon, in which way are we both alike, I find it flattering as he is obviously quite bright but he is about 20 odd years older than me, I also think it's disappointent you make that insinuation just because we agree on basic things, many posters on here do particular right wingers.

Foxy did lose it from time to time but was always the first to admit it and apologise when he crossed a line.

I wasn't saying that because he knows how much older SH is that they are the same person, quite the contrary. I know how much older I am than my wife, for example, that doesn't imply that we are the same person just that we know each other rather well.

I think a lot of the second accounts were set up by people who had received a ban.
It wasn't difficult in the early days but Betfair have tightened up on registrations since then.

At that time Foinavon, same as now, you could have only 1 B/F betting account however unlike now you could have more than 1 forum account.
