Right wing so must have been Pro Brexit His actions could only have harmed that .. None of it Makes sense ,and
a family Left without a Wife/Mother ..
Report King Louis • June 13, 2017 11:14 PM BST
Why must right wing mean pro Brexit? Most right wing people I know are anti Brexit. I'm pro Brexit and definitely not right wing.

Watched the insufferable Brendan Cox on breakfast TV yesterday and it took him all of 30 seconds to politicize the death of his wife.

In part of his statement, he said "whether they're Nazis or islamist extremists, we have to .....blah blah blah"

Note the use of the word "whether"  which basically says these 2 things are the same, he is equating the wave of Islamic terrorist attacks with neo-Nazi attacks. That there are just as many murderous neo-Nazis as there are murderous Islamists. CrazyCrazyCrazy

this use of language is deliberate and typical spin tactics used by neo-liberals.
Report saddo • June 14, 2017 11:21 AM BST
Are there likely to be 23,000 "neo nazis" on a watch list iyo?
Report Platini • June 14, 2017 11:39 AM BST
Knock 3 zeros off and you might be nearer the mark.

And the 23,000 is likely a very conservative estimate for the jihadis.

Interesting if you google Brendan Cox and why  he had to leave his very well paid job at Oxfam ...never mentioned in the media ...I wonder if  this be deleted ???

Street parties and bake-offs will be held across the UK this weekend in honour of the murdered Labour MP Jo Cox, one year after her death

Stars like Ed Sheeran & Andy Murray have taken part in a video asking people to show unity a year on from the murder of MP Jo Cox

WTF

Sad she died, and so horribly, but the wet fish liberals are going overboard on this one, as well as the usual 'celebs' trying to gain kudos

Scamp get it right.....it was Save the Children not Oxfam nevertheless seems to be an odious individual.
Report PorcupineorPineapple • June 16, 2017 9:24 AM BST
I find it fascinating that people are so intent at trying to disparage the MP's husband. What kind of person hears about the women being murdered on our streets and reacts by looking to dig up dirt on her widower? Not outrage at the murder, not sorrow for the pain, not a desire for this kind of thing not to happen again but instead, you burrow and dredge in the wish to discredit rather than empathise.

I'm not a psychoanalyst by any stretch but I imagine some of these people would be very interesting case studies.

Brendan Cox is using a public platform to make political points. Like anyone else he should not be above scrutiny, regardless of the tragic event of his wife's death.
Many people have been murdered on our streets as recent events have shown. Mayor Khan has said we should "get used to it". Is he making a political point too?
Report TheBaron • June 16, 2017 10:58 AM BST
Just because someone has suffered doesn't mean you have to forever blithely accept anything they say as being the truth.
Report PorcupineorPineapple • June 16, 2017 11:12 AM BST
To both the above: Who said anything about accepting their word as gospel? But surely the adult thing would be to debate the point or the issue. If you disagree with him, then say why. As far as I can see, he's only seeking to spread the message his wife advocated before she was killed. A slightly hippy message and anti-extremists on all sides of the spectrum. Personally I don't see too much about that to get worked up about but some might.

But why the need to play the man and not the ball? Can you not think of a comeback against his argument? Do you disagree with him but aren't quite sure why? So then you have to dig. How sad and inadequate, seriously, must someone be to wake up one day and think "right, I'm going to sit down and research this guy's past in the hope I find something disagreeable that I can chuck in his face that will hopefully stop him making these points that I can't adequately face down."
Report saddo • June 16, 2017 11:14 AM BST
We have no idea whether he was bothering women so I can't judge him on that.
Is he using the death of his wife for political purposes? Certainly. His wife is to be a lasting Martyr to right wing terrorism, while the many who have died as a result of Islamic terror in this country will soon become nameless statistics, something we have to live with.
Report moisok • June 16, 2017 11:22 AM BST
it is part of the attempt to deflect attention away from the real problem

talk about taking your eye off the ball

Street parties - you are joking surely??
Report asparagus • June 16, 2017 11:48 AM BST
There is no attempt to deflect. They are both 'real' problems. One may be on a bigger scale than the other but both require tackling. If they are not tackled they will both continue to escalate.
Report TheBaron • June 16, 2017 12:01 PM BST
Certain tragedies will become a Cause Celebre, others quickly forgotten.  Who decides this? the media.  The media set the agenda they tell you whats important.
Report moisok • June 16, 2017 12:08 PM BST
tv news editorial selections (you wonder who make these decisions over what you see)

such a small point but the description of the guy with the knife outside parliament

30 yr old MAN etc etc etc

Mirror guy who saw it all - same description but slipped up by saying he is a black guy .... then the rest of the description

sky however ommitted the word

it is nothing and it is everything

there is an agenda I can assure you

sky have been very selective over the fire also - uncomfortable interviews 24 hours ago were edged off the story almost after they were first aired- I wonder why??

I agree with PP leave the man alone he's doing what he thinks best to hounor his late wife and also to bring up his kids, I lost my wife and my kids were young. There is no manuel for this and you just do the best you can.

Brendan Cox invited the spotlight by holding a Trafalgar Sq memorial for his wife before she was buried.

The list of charities people were then asked to donate to increased the scrutiny. Hope not Hate for example were active in their opposition to UKIP. They keep this up to day (see their website) as well as being very pro Islam. 3 items on their website today about Jo Cox..

Cameron of course used his wife's death to promote his Remain agenda. The whole episode was awful and then shameful.
Report Ibrahima Sonko • June 16, 2017 9:34 PM BST
Injera, the test of this ritual will be measured by me after a change of government or a soft brexit.

I shall ttt this fred in 3 years time.
