3 attacks since the Snoopers Charter came into play at the start of the year and she's still blaming the internet....maybe they should stop snooping on JSA claimants and use what it was intended for.

She is absolutely full of shiit. Unfortunately this will give her a big push over the line.

Is that the same Owen Jones who smugly claimed last night that nobody was cowed, because he was in a pub and everyone was laughing having a good time

while innocents were having their throats slit
Report Injera June 4, 2017 3:58 PM BST
Little comfort to draw from May's speech. However it's a step in the right direction.

Eventually those who govern (of whatever political persuasion), will catch up with 'pub wisdom'. The bloke in the pub has been warning of this stuff for years..

We just have to wait and wait..Sad
Report duffy June 4, 2017 4:02 PM BST
If we start having attacks every couple of weeks then there will be inevitable change as the pressure is just too much and the govt will have to do something.

It's when the gap between events is long enough for the public mood to cool somewhat before it happens again where the govt can get away with spieling out the same old sh1te.

Shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry has criticised Theresa May for announcing a four-point plan to tackle terrorism immediately after the attack.

She told BBC Radio 4's The World This Weekend that she didn't think it was right to get "dragged into plans at this stage" and that is was a "matter of timing".

Asked if the announcement strayed into party politics, she said: "I think that it is drawing us into a debate. I think that there is time enough for us to discuss this issues.

"To come out onto the steps of 10 Downing Street, immediately in the aftermath of a terrible outrage like this, was not something that would be expected.

"I just simply regret the approach that she has taken."
Report Foinavon June 4, 2017 4:24 PM BST
Of course she had to come out of number 10 and make a statement, what would labour have said had she hidden herself behind the curtains?

Such rubbish on every level.
Blame those not in power for what those in power have been unable to stop.

All you have is "Labour would be worse" whatever the subject..... continuing the press driven mantra.

The general consensus is that May was using it..... However, I don't think anyone is using tragedy for any political gain and it's preposterous to suggest they are.

Report akabula June 4, 2017 8:54 PM BST

As regards using it for political purposes many of your friends were on here justifying the attacks because of our foreign policy.
