Boxing I don't sit around waiting for you to post, I have other things to do and answer in my own time so you can put your stop clock away, although nice to know you're sitting refreshing you browser waiting for me to come back
![]() You simply said she was the greatest ever and qualified that by referencing her slam count, I've explained exactly why that slam count does not carry much gravitas at all in detail and you ignore it all, shift the goalposts and start talking about art and Forumla 1 explaining to me what my logic is, my logic is progress, moving from amateur sport to professional sport, from rigid movements to all court action, from slower players to faster players, from slower racquets to faster racquets, from only being able to use continental grips to using semi and extreme Eastern and Western grips etc, to playing only on grass to playing on 3 different surfaces, every aspect of Tennis has changed and improved. If she was born in the 80's and played today she may well have been at the same level but that point is not relevant to the point in hand of whether she was the greatest. |

Good night Boxingthefox and Scandi...and Margaret Court...and all tennis-based lesbians...I'm off to start my new giant mural...it'll be great as I'm using modern sh1t like nylon brushes and computers and neon acrylic paint...obviously, this technology makes me far better than Michelangelo, who was operating in the dark ages...my new masterpiece is called...well. it's called THE FEEL OF WOOD...
![]() It's the sequel to STANDING ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS. |

Fair comment, but when you go to the main page, it's impossible not to see posts moving up, I was interested to see what you had to say, no browser refreshing involved. At least you are now putting something better than the trite 'No she's not'. You guys know more than me on this subject, so I will leave you to it. As far as comparing past 'greats' with modern day 'greats' Some past 'greats' would win in any era, and would only benefit from advances in training, diet etc etc I believe Court is one of them. Just as Arkle was the greatest back then and would be in any era. |

Bu**er I was about to shut this thing down, Saw him win his first Gold cup Vel, and many more afterwards, Stan ellor did a great article following his win on Stalbridge Colinist (another fav of mine) saying he nicked it from Taffe who was switched off, and the best horse los.t
Taffe a great horseman, BRUTAL jockey, Arkle won many races despite having him on his back. I'M really off now GN. |

Of course if Margaret Court was playing now she would use an old wooden tennis racquet and sip a gin and tonic between sets. Comparing champions from different eras in any sport is ridiculous.

Rod Laver would be lucky to make it as ball boy if he played today.
|
|
By:
Colin Meads would just be a cranky runt playing 3rds for the Invercargill Penguins today.
|
|
By:
Ayrton Senna would just be another Latino leadfoot dragging off pensioners at the lights if he was around today.

Also. For the attention of Annie. Gay people don't think they're trapped in the wrong body. They just like having sex with people of the same gender.
|

A lot of gays have gone through hell being born into the wrong sex. And sometimes it is a physical thing. I read somewhere that the mind and the sex organs are formed at different times and then something goes wrong, pollution etc, and they end up with say a men's mind but a female body.
Of course not all gays are like that. There are those like me who is naturally female but drawn to lesbians who look like men. So where did I say that ALL gay people are trapped in the wrong body, KAMIKAZEE? And are you gay or bisexual and know about these things? |
|
By:
Ok so you said a lot. Not all. I'd say hardly any. Gay people are not the same as transgenders.
|
|
By:
Hardly any???? You cannot be serious!
Where does your knowledge of gays come from? |

Not relevant ? erm thats the only point that is relevant You have to assume that equipment/training regime/coaching are all equal ( as they'd have to be if playing in the same era) and just judge on natural ability . |
|
By:
Hang on a sec. Maybe we are getting our wires crossed. My understanding is that you think gay people are gay because they were born into the wrong sex. Is that what you're saying or have I got it all wrong?
