Broadcaster Katie Hopkins is to leave her show on LBC "immediately", the radio station has said.
The presenter, who first rose to prominence as a contestant on The Apprentice in 2006, joined LBC last April. Hopkins is known for her controversial opinions and regularly attracts criticism for her views. She has continued tweeting since LBC's announcement but has not yet referred to her own departure. Hopkins is also a Mail Online columnist and appeared in Celebrity Big Brother in 2015, finishing in second place. Both LBC and Hopkins declined to comment further when contacted by the BBC. LBC's tweet: LBC and Katie Hopkins have agreed that Katie will leave LBC effective immediately. This week, she caused anger with when she tweeted that there must be a "final solution" in dealing with terrorists following the Manchester terror attack. She later changed the term "final solution" to "true solution", describing the earlier version as a "mis-type". But some Twitter users drew the comments to the attention of the Metropolitan Police, claiming they could incite racial or religious hatred. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the matter was being "reviewed and assessed by specialist officers". After Hopkins made the comments, another LBC presenter, James O'Brien, described on air the "shame" he felt about sharing a platform with her. He called Hopkins "a monstrous self-publicist" who "employs the most vile of thoughts and language in a desperate attempt to stay relevant and get noticed". |

There were “massive cheers and applause” from former colleagues in the newsroom after confirmation was received that she would be leaving, the BBC’s media editor, Amol Rajan, reported.
Hopkins’ tweet, made in the hours after the explosion at Manchester Arena, said: “22 dead – number rising. Schofield. Don’t you even dare. Do not be a part of the problem. We need a final solution Machester [sic].” She later edited the tweet, writing “typo / wording amended”, and then deleted it. |

Only have to look at some of her appearances on This Morning, remember when she was trying to wind people up about having common names, and how you know which kids are common just by it, she also tried to mock people for naming their kids after places, countries, before she was reminded her own child was called India  |

Maybe it was a typo, maybe it was a freudian slip.
Nobody can know for sure - final solution despite being linked with hitler's rhetoric is also a very commonplace and bland/generic phrase used in loads of different contexts. So it is possible that KH was just using it as a generic description and hadn't been thinking about the nazis at the time when she typed it out. But of course the PC brigade will never contemplate that possibility - presumed guilty is always the starting position. |

I couldn't have stated more obviously what I mean.
No apathy, no apology, not talking about retaliation, or anything else. Just that it's wrong to ever use the expression 'Final Solution' It is equally wrong to then keep defending it. I'm not actually talking about anything else, I don't want to, I don't need to. |
