That 'poet' who wrote that new age Manchester poem said it wasn't written in light of the terrorism.
I have to confess I didn't think much of it, it didn't stir anything in me but then I'm not from Manchester.

So what was it all about, and why is Manchester any different from any other English town or city?

Manchester is not any different now. It was a great city once, a long time ago.

Each region could be romantic about their own story, if it wasn't written in response to atrocity what was it written about?

They getting dewey eyed that they arnt stuck in cloth mills weaving textiles any more because it's all been sent away to people who will do it for even less in a sweat shop?

So they attempt to broadcast unity by using work commissioned that effuses parochial individuality?

I'm not saying it was about that exactly,but Peterloo would be in the consciousness of a Manchester poet,and it crossed my mind when I heard him recite it. I didn't consider it particularly good either btw.

All sorts religion and colours got along unless you where there to try and be a gangster you where safe

Many Scots moved there in the 70s , 80s

My uncle moved there in the 70s lived there until he died

Before the Vigil Tommy Robinson was syaing to Alex Jones on info wars Vigils are a waste of time etc

After Vigil he has changed his mind and thought it was great to see all the people come together

Suppose he never knew how close they where but could this be an easy target for more Terrorists as they won't go against anyone who stays there as they still think it's all like ti was but it has to be changing like every other town. Rochdale/Rotherham/Manc taxi drivers all will know each other.

It's rather ironic that the only name I've seen from Manchester is the perpetrator so far.
Unless 'Lancashire, bury, Oldham and Preston' are considered Manchester...the others being from South Shields, Sheffield, Leeds and others.

Krishnan (C4) was on curry mile last night.If all of Britain were like this wouldn't it be fantastic.It is hard to understand white flight after watching this.A great city,no question about that.I am sure that the BBC staff who are based nearby are moving their families in to these multicultural areas.Maybe you could even have Yvette and Ed as neighbours as they have been at the forefront of developing such wonderful places.

I wouldn't bank on this coming to fruition, they've been promising West Ham fans a decent striker (just in time for season-ticket renewals) for the last three or four years. they've yet to deliver.

After the Westminster attack, they hosted red nose two days later. A decision I still can't understand.

It's not just the BBC that has disgraced itself with much of its collective Manchester Bomb coverage across their various platforms.

Here's a Channel 4 News report last night from Manchester. An interview with representatives of the special community no less.

Truly chilling viewing. None of the many troubling responses were remotely challenged by the 'reporter', less still point out the obvious contradictions.

If this is Manchester 'standing together against hate', then I'm the next Miss World. Still, it's important we know where we stand.

Incidentally, this inconvenient news report mysteriously 'disappeared' from the C4 News website until a number of well-placed media people spotted the absence and started asking awkward questions. It's now back in place.

Luckily in the meantime others had posted it on YouTube so the world could judge the views expressed for themselves.  A number of people have observed that one interviewee is wearing some awful garment where the word 'LOVE' is spelled out in shapes that appear to be types of weapons. How classy. Not.

Injera - I agree, but C4 have inadvertently done us all a massive favour by doing this interview. Unfortunately for C4 the interview completely exposed their preferred narrative of Modern Britain as a complete sham. Hardly a surprise that it was disappeared from the website for many hours.
