Has anyone ever made use of this service? It's complete and utter pointless bobbins from my numerous attempts of using different versions over the years.
Most emails telling me of my order and supplying a tracking number lead to a blank page.....or ones that do show any information just say it's on the way Pmsl How much did this service cost then?
Most are a mere bagatelle but there was one company, might have been Yodel/DHL perhaps, where it told you the amount of deliveries the driver had to make that day and where you were numerically on that list. It even told you that he'd just dropped something off in Wandsworth, his next delivery was in Battersea and he'd be with you after that.
Impressive.

Yeah there is one, could be DHL who send an email on the day of delivery that gives an hour window and gives the ability to change it. That's the best I've seen.
But that's different to the ones that confirm the order and give a tracking number two point of purchase that just offers nothing of use at all.

I sent a parcel to Australia a couple of weeks ago via the post office.
They gave me a tracking number that told me the date and time of every movement of that parcel - from when I dropped it off at the Post Office, arriving at the local mail centre, arriving at Heathrow, arriving in Sydney and finally when it was delivered.

Hermes and Yodel have part time people who use their own car. You often see a car crammed full of parcels. I know a place where some of them go to sort out their route and they have them spread out over the ground. Surprising number of older people doing that job.

Last few times I tried to track, with other companies, they wouldn't even accept the tracking number they had given!

I really can't complain about buying stuff off Ebay or Amazon.
They seem to get most of the stuff to me very quickly.
As for Royal Mail. Recorded delivery has served me well down the years.

DHL is expensive as fook you are paying a big postage premium on whatever you are buying there. Royal Mail all the way for me....must have 500+ ebay items over the years sent via RM none ever gone missing. Although they did have a hick-up a few Xmas ago when it snowed bad in November/early December ....stuff came about 6 weeks late!
