America demands the unconditional surrender of Japan and the overthrow of emperor hirohito, Japan refuses.... 2 nuke attacks later, Japan surrenders but hirohito is allowed to stay.
But didnt Japan offer to surrender before Hiroshima, with the condition that the Emperor stays.....If so, what was the point of dropping the bomb.

Maybe they offered everything else and it was accepted out of a moment of guilt?

I guess the difference is it became up to the Americans whether Hirohito stayed or not , and they decided to keep as worried more about communism
