I was getting a bus for 70p ten years ago. It's now £2.10 a single trip over four stops.
Daily local travel £4.50.
Food has been shaved down - this is classic hiding of inflation.
Instead of your favourite sweets being the usual size you get smaller bars?
i recently bought a turkish delight, it lost a quarter of it's size the ridges on the top were gone.
chocolate paper thin? they do this with everything.

Felix cat food you used to get 48 pouches for around a tenner. Then it went to 44 and now it's 40. Amazingly the box that holds them is still the same size.
same as the currency situation. The pound was overvalued for years and had been on a downward trend (market correction) trend v the USD for a long time before Brexit.

Not worth buying crisps anymore. The bags are 2/3rds empty.

For most people, levels of inflation are largely irrelevant unless compared to the relevant rise or fall in earnings.
Modern inflation started with................................Dolly Parton, apparently.
