Would you like a copy of your medical records? on a usb stick? pay £5 for your records - someone could cream off a quid in that transaction. A usb costs £2-£3. easily fit into a one gbyte dongle.

if you wanted to make a copy or ten of your own records for safe keeping then the danger of losing all records is minimized.

In some cases - hypochondriacs and other conditions perhaps it would be withheld? or not.

You ever been more than one time to hospital ( or a doctors come to that ). You are repeatedly asked the same questions as if this was your first visit. Including obvious ones like are you allergic to penicillin ! Where are the ' computer records' of your medical history that a medical professional can access and immediately be up to speed with your conditions and how best to treat you. Every time I've had to go into hospital, the records of my medical history are all paper copies presented in a folder.None of which has been transposed onto a computer.

Would you let somebody insert their USB stick into your port? Thought not. That's an excellent way to transfer viruses.
