One of the best films ever made in my honest and humble opinion. 10/10.

It's very good but I think Sergio Leone's "Once Upon a Time in the West" is better.

Can only give it 7, H. Too slow and Fond is about 90 and gets his wanger serviced before Charles of the Bronson. Poor form..

Great Acting......Gene Hackman was Brilliant.

He very nearly didn't do the film. He was worried about the violence but Eastwood wanted him badly. So some scenes were cut and Hackman did the film..

One of the first films I ever saw in the cinema mad dog.
I think it was the 'support' film or whatever they called it. Have watched it a few times over the years and never tire of it as it evokes so many good memories. |

One of the best 'westerns' ever made - Eastwood wiped the slate for some of his less inspired films. Up there with The Searchers, which started to face the barbarity of the occupation.

Brilliant film, I also love The Cowboys. The John Wayne film where he takes a load of kids on a Cattle Drive and Bruce Dern kills him.

Maud Adams was a very beautiful woman, she was a Bond girl a couple of times. I can't recall which films off hand.
I never knew that about Gene Hackman hesitating to take the role of Little Bill, he put in a great performance as did Richard Harris in his role as English Bob. All in all it's in my top 5 films ever and no doubt will watch it again next time it is on! |
