Apologies to anyone who took notice of my original post.I'm totally flabbergasted that pile of Jazz doggy doo came top of the tree. When i first heard the "song" it got totally dismissed from my list of potential winners.Without trying to sound like a sore loser i did my absolute coconuts last night. Anywayi have made a vow to myself that i will never ever watch or get involved financially with this over hyped politically motivated so called "competition".

Surprised it's taken you so long to come to that conclusion.
It's always a complete ' fix' |

After initially going to bed thinking my conkers were done in, I woke up this morning having only lost £15. I clawed some of it back laying UK for top 10. In hindsight Lucie sang brilliantly and had I known that she would deliver that performance I would never have touched the market. I also back Moldova in running, I can't fathom the reason why but it helped me get some losses back.
I was disappointed in Romania and Croatia. I thought Croatia especially done well. It was quirky, unusual and the reason Eurovision exists. Just a pity the rest of Europe didn't see otherwise. As others have noted Portugal's song was a pile of cack. Normally when I look back and something stands out to the reason why. Dana International, Lordy and even last years winners, chosen because Russia had invaded their country all had reasons to pick them. When you look at other factors there is usually something that you can think of that wins. I still can't fathom a reason for Portugal. I will be backing next year and probably lose more money as usual. Enjoyed this thread, unlucky Pieverotti. |

Not saying Portugal was awful but others were better, wouldn't have put him in the final 10. And Portugal over 50 years with no top 5 result, and now a SHOCK WIN ! At least we got points this year and we weren't at the bottom. Lucie gave a great performance and deserved top 5 at least.
I wouldn't touch these markets, too unpredictable. Somehow simplicity of song won it in the end, no big stage presentation, no flashy light shows, and no dancing gorilla, would never have predicted that, but well done to him. In his winner's speech, Salvador said “Music is not fireworks, music is feeling." (Slightly insulting the rest of the competitors with that comment, but true, although this competition is not about meaningful music it is commercial trash and fun.) Fair play to him, well done...... still can't believe he won ! |

Been with my missus for fourteen years and in all that time I haven't watched Eurovision this year the worm turned. We had friends over. No one could believe how bad it was which was missing the point. It's how bad it is that makes it so great.
The irony wasn't missed by the Cyprus judge when they gave Greece twelve points ![]() |

If anyone is remotely interested here are the English lyrics to the song Amar pelos dois: (wife said "I think this could win it," I said "don't be daft, no way......" But the way he delivers the song, and it's so out of Euro style, but he grabbed it with feeling, just didn't think it could win ! Watched it again and liked it more the second time.
Love for the both of us If one day someone asks about me Say that I lived just to love you Before you, I only existed Tired and without a thing to offer My dear, listen to my prayers I ask you to come back, that you come back to love me I know that we can't love alone * Maybe little by little you can learn again My dear, listen to my prayers I ask you to come back, that you come back to love me I know that we can't love alone Maybe little by little you can learn again If your heart don't wish to do so To feel the passion, If it don't want to suffer Without making plans about what will happen My Heart can love for the both of us |
