Personally I just don't get it!

My son installed it on here, but I just delete every one that comes in.

Am I missing something?

What gets me is the high profile people, such as Alan Sugar and Richard Branson, who have time for it!

Also, irrespective of who they are, why would you want to "follow" them?

I tweet most days.

It doesn't take a couple of minutes, so there is no great time involved if you don't want to spend lots of time.

But I have never Facebook-ed and cannot make head nor tail of that odd site.

This has to be the only forum where you can't delete/edit your own postsConfused

I've talked of this before, and it's seriously infuriating, that we can't edit or pull our own comments!

I am interested in indie published books - both the writing, publishing, and the reading thereof - and I have met loads of people across the world interested in the same kind of thing.

It works for me, and I get loads of free books to read and review - some good, some great, and some so bad you would not believe!!

For what good it will do, I just asked the mods why we don't have this facility....

Each social media platform is great for what it does, you're posting on one now AP.

Twitter is great for concise current info on a wide variety of subjects. You don't need to follow when a celeb has a dump but it's your choice.

Unless you are on for a specific reason, ie like bungalow bill, it's a waste of time.
I look in on a few footie tweeters most days but have never felt the need to tweet.

I had always thought that I should write to david ashforth from the racing post and thank him for his amusing articles but never got around to it.  However, I thought that if he was on twitter then it would be easy, and it was.  I just looked him up and sent a short tweet thanking him for his many articles over  his and mine racing lifetime.  He even replied and thanked me Love

Shows the shallowness of the cults followers.

I think the big difference on here is the mods are quick to stamp down on over offensive posts.
The likes of twitter, facebook and youtube seem to have poor standards.

My point is it's all social media. This is Social Media if you don't know, Betfair threads are Googleable to all. Don't knock it if your already using it.

Twitter is just another, a very good form if used correctly.

It might all be social media but the standards vary considerably.
Facebook, twitter and youTube all allow posts that mock sick or dead people.

like if someone gets a reply they don't like and then throw themselves off a bridge etc etc

they have made a real evil system that is really fkn up society

the obsession of it which makes headlines everyday etc etc

a whole industry of 'healing'and 'care' growing out of it

all though said tongue in cheek  it really is a nasty game is it not

get rid of it

All public posts are traceable just like here but all social media can be good if used correctly. Twitter is brilliant for up to date info in a concise manner, not for knowing celebrities are having a sh!t

I said that in an earlier post Ovalman but it doesn't take away from the fact that Twitter has low standards and it's for that reason I wouldn't sign up to it.

Each platform has it's uses.

Betfair is great for random anonymous sh!t. Twitter is great for up to the minute team news. I don't use instagram but I reckon it could be of use if I needed it.

Facebook is for family and friends.

Just found out PKR went bust, I've £30 tied up Cry
