Yanis Varoufakis talking sense on Sky. He knows!

By:

By:
Could be much worse. Barnier v Diane Abbot!
By:
The Bullingdon boy would up the creek , I bet Barnier and Juncker are laughing , David Davis ok he is decent guy for a tory , but Johnson and Fox I bet the krauts and the French cant believe their luck.
By:
None of you have ever listened to me.
I told you never to trust foreigners. Now look at the mess you are in!! The french hate us for saving them in ww11 and the germans are laughing all the way to the bank after achieving hegemony in europe without firing a shot. You do really wonder who actually won that war. The Marshall plan did it for germany and royally fked us ho ho!! |

By:
don't ****g pay it full stop,a nice % of it will end up in their sky rockets no doubt anyway

There's going to be ructions at BMW - these puffed up eurocrats represent nothing but themselves, their wallets and pensions.

Great performance outside No.10 by TM.
By:
Absolute rubbish and the cheek of One Nation Theresa using Downing Street privilege as party political broadcast , the little Englander from the silent remainer
By:
Statesman like,as opposed to a bloke in a state.
By:
What sort of British people would take the side of unelected Eurocrats over May and the democratic will of the UK ?
By:
Wrapping her self round the flag , dear me whats next from this fraudster Gibraltar ?
By:
anxious, that sort of people alun
By:
Jed I have merely pointed out that Mrs May was a silent remainer in the EU referendum , now she portrays herself as the defender of Britain , all of this is true I believe , she should not use Downing street for a party political broadcast either , as I have said before I did vote to leave but my lasting reality is that the Working Class have no country
By:
The working class have no country anxious because the Party for which you will shortly vote has abandoned them.
By:
In fact it hasn't just abandoned them, it has ground them into the dust
By:
May is very limited (but to her credit, she knows it) though I feel she is getting found out, of course she is blessed there is for all intents and purposes no credible opposition.
As someone quoted on one these threads "May has sought an election she promised she wouldn't do, so she could get a mandate she proclaimed she had, the mandate being to implement a policy she campaigned against" !!! Sums it up. Cameron campaigned on same sound-bites too......stable government!! |
By:
May did not campaign against Brexit.
Your quote may sound nice, but it's patent nonsense. |
By:
Jed the working classes in most countries have no country , all they have basically is their Labour for the bosses, establishment and Capitalists to exploit which they have done for a long long time.
By:
Jed, yes she did - at the party conference, and publically in the city. What part of the quote is nonsense?
She was a remainer She said she would not an hold an election.....but opportunism (or something more sinister has changed her mind) Why and election? To get a mandate.........but that is what she has been saying for a year " we have a mandate". Besides the "mandate" she seeks is a load of b0llix, the EU couldn't give a fiddlers if she had a majority of 1 or 100 - what difference does it make. Look closely - maybe its to pave the way for a "softer" Brexit by reducing the influence of the hard brexiteers. It has occurred you? |
By:
May as the PM of the day, is trying to carry out the will of the people (leaving the EU).
It's called democracy. The fact she voted to remain makes it all the more plausible. Politicians are there to serve and obey us. Yes it's an open goal for her on June 8 but no way can she afford a clash of timescale in 2020 with Sturgeon's Take 2 and Brexit negotiations. |
By:
To quote Keynes.. "When the facts change,I change my mind. What do you do Sir?"
By:
...what facts changed to warrant an election?
By:
-- polls? -- election expenses? --
can't be "mandate", parliament and then Lords had given this |
By:
The talk with Goldman Sachs was a private funtion, and does not constitute a campaign in any way.
By:
TM and her team will be aware of a myriad of facts unavailable to us.
By:
....oh so its a secret reason.
"We'd like to call an election for reasons you are completely unaware of, so lets just say its for the mandate we already have. Thank you Ladies and Gentlemen" FFS - if there was legitimate reason "we" would be the first to know, don't you think? But it does make sense why May and her underlings are flummoxed over EU approach of complete transparency in the Brexit negotiations. Absolutely nothing they can do about it - so who handles the news when it becomes clear (already is) who is setting the timetable, the sequence, the agenda etc. Its just not the way they like to do things ![]() |
By:
It doesn't matter how they like to do things - they will give us what we want or we walk away and the EU is dead. That's the reality of the matter, whatever you silly people wish for.
By:
May was frustrated by the opposition from within her party and of course from Scotland, Lib Dems parts of Labour and even the House of Lords.
The EU ref was a cross party issue, not party political. The house of Commons should have come together in support of a democratic process. Instead they have sought to obstruct May. I think she just got fed up. Is she taking a great opportunity as well? Of course and who can blame her. Is she concerned about Indy Ref #2 and Brexit negotiations clashing with an election in 2020? Of course! Again, she's right to be. Calling it now was a no brainer. The country will then decide. |
By:
Sturgeon just said "TM is portraying the EU as the bogeyman to mask her own problems at home". Yep you'd be the expert on that tactic wee Nicky.
By:
Jed, UK walks away and the EU is dead.
- completely delusional. In fact it will probably make the EU stronger and more cohesive as it learns the lesson of Brexit. The UK market is replaceable over time within the EU27 themselves - and actually presents opportunities for many of its individual members (Germans, Luxembourgers and Irish already licking their chops at financial services windfalls. How on earth does the UK replace a 440 million strong market on its doorstep? I'd be interested to hear that. You'd be better advised to do some research and cancel your subscription to the Daily Mail. |
By:
The old Daily Mail line lol, I'm a Times man for what it's worth.
How is losing a massive net contributor going to make the EU stronger? And why would we need to replace a market? We will still have access to the European market, and any tariffs they want to impose in line with WTO rules will be acceptable to us as they will surely be reciprocated. Your fears and scaremongering cut no ice with me wallflower, same old tired 'the sky will fall in' nonsense we've heard from so many people. I will be proved right when the negotiations start, because we hold all the cards, all of them. The EU knows that, and I suspect deep down so do you. |
By:
Sky wont fall in - I argue the same line re: Scottish Independence.
I'm saying it will be more difficult for UK post-brexit than it will be for the rest of EU. deep down I know that much ![]() |
